Awesome! Now you can get half what you would get selling it on your own, as opposed to a quarter of the independent sale price!

So what's this come down to, another $3 on every trade? Yeah. Looks like they hurtin'.

I called to see about trading in Dante's Inferno, I didn't ask for the 50%, and they want to give me $25 for it. Lol, not happening.

Hate to tell your math's off. That'd be a 100% increase. So really you're getting 3/8ths of what you'd get if you sold it yourself, which in turn makes you a glass 5/8ths empty kind of guy I guess.

The 'glass half empty' wasn't a mathematical equation, my friend. It's an idiomatic expression, not a literal one. I see your point on the half/quarter however. It would actually be 6/8ths, would it not? No...3/8ths is correct.

Oh forget it. They rip you off. Don't do it.

OK, so I guess bad math jokes really aren't funny...who'da thunk? I'm well aware of the expression. And no...3/8ths is what you'd be getting from a 50% increase:

1/4 = 2/8

2/8 * 1.5 = 2/8 * 3/2 = 6/16 = 3/8

Yup. I already edited that in, before it even logged an edit on me (editing a post within a few minutes leaves it unmarked as having been edited). You are correct! :)

Edit: Also, I hate GameStop. Truly. I haven't 'patronized' their store for years, and will never do so again. Ever.

You'll have to admit, GameStop has some of the sweetest preorder incentives -- collectables like t-shirts, toys, DLC and whatnot. But something is horribly wrong when a pre-owned merchandiser can get away with selling opened products as "new".

well, think of it as the premium they get for holding excess inventory. you selling a game independently would involve search costs, shipping... quite a lot of hassle for 30-40 bucks plus the transaction fee that paypal takes from you (unless you're doing a personal transfer).
