Lost Planet 2 Pre-Order Items, Split-screen, and Wesker for All

The Capcom Unity blog (http://www.capcom-unity.com/snow_infernus/blog/2010/02/25/new_lost_planet_2_pre-order_items,_splitscreen,_and_wesker_for_all) has been updated with an announcement regarding Lost Planet 2 pre-orders; anyone who grabs the game is going to have access to the Wesker skin and revolver. As always there are special pre-order only items available at Gamestop and this time its two multiplayer maps, Helix and Back to the Island. To try and get that sour pre-order taste out of your mouth Capcom also wanted you to know that they are including split-screen support, now you and your buddy can get together for a night of drunken comradery.

Helix
The underwater NEVEC mining facility houses several layers and twisted corridors. Swim between the layers, or dive to the bottom to change your point of attack. Aqua Catapults can launch you to the upper levels in a hurry, and you must learn every corner and get the upper hand on your enemies.

Back to the Island
The shady atoll of Island 902 is broken into wide open spaces and compact interiors. Choose your battlefield from the beaches to the battered carrier, or explore a new dimension in the underwater battle. Control the bridge to dominate the map, but beware attacks from all sides.

Seems dumb to make MP maps a pre-order only item. You want people playing your game and MP is the "tail" that keeps people engaged. If you fracture your audience into people who have a map/mode vs those that don't you're making it harder for people.

Want me to pre-order? Then throw in all that content that they cut. Would it have been such a big deal to make the game two discs?

Also, I'm unclear as to whether or not the content got cut from the PS3 version too. As far as I'd heard, the 360 was the main development platform. If the content isn't making it in to that version, would they leave it out of the PS3 version as well?

LP:Colonies Edition multiplayer incompatible with LP. (http://play.tm/review/18742/lost-planet-extreme-condition-colonies-edition/) They don't care about splitting the online community...or charging for it later...or both.

They'll release that content with the "Lost Planet 2: Colonies Edition" later. ;)

It's Capcom. They'll be releasing another SF soon, too.

I just want to know what content they are cutting from the 360 version, and if the PS3 will have that content over the Xbox.
