I so despise the Avatar Marketplace and, by extension, all the people who keep buying items thereon. I actually like my Avatar (especially when I can use it in a game), but the real-$$$ economy based on functionless virtual couture drives me mad. The avatar looks good in the few games I've seen it in, like A Kingdom for Keflings or Dirt 2 (mirror ornament).

but i agree and never will buy anything for my avatar. yes i will take free stuff, but have never purchased download content except arcade games. i think most DLC should have been included and/or free since i purchased the game. it must be major for a fee.....:)

People like you essentially are saying "I enjoy the avatars, and since I enjoy them, screw people who don't. Deal with it and quit crying." People like myself are saying, "I'm glad you enjoy them, and hope you have the chance to continue to do so, but I'd like the option to turn the feature off so I can enjoy my own 360 experience the way I choose to, not the way MS, or others, say I have to."

One of us is a real bitch who thinks others should enjoy what THEY say is enjoyable; the other one wants both of us to have choices. I'll leave it to you to figure out which is which. :D

I'll openly admit to wasting point on a Clone Trooper helmet, but I do agree that the avatars should be optional. There is an extremely vocal minority that simply hates them. I don't mind them in the least, but choices and options are a good thing.

Please, Microsoft. Let folks shut off avatars.
