This week we have a special guest! Jim’s brother-in-law Joe sits in on the podcast as we get our nerd rage in full effect over the topic of DLC.
Did you choose fire or water? Adam chose fire, Ben chose water, and Jim chose both!
Jim and Adam discuss whether Dante’s Inferno lives up to the heated hype, or if it fizzled out, then Jim and Ben discuss the cross-platform differences of Bioshock 2, and Ben is beside himself with great things to say about the multiplayer experience.
All this and some sneaky sleuthing about Square (alliteration!) on this weeks SHOTGUN.
Games Discussed: Bayonetta, BioShock 2, Dante's Inferno, Darksiders, Final Fantasy XIII, Torchlight, Your Doodles are Bugged

I think you guys have been coming down a bit too hard on the Alien vs. Predator demo. Sure, the game is by all accounts not going to be anything earth-shattering in the way of innovations in either gameplay or graphics, but I've watched enough videos of the multiplayer to know that at least playing as the Predator looks like it's going to be a hoot. The focus on melee attacks and the implementation of melee counters (like stopping an Alien from performing a brain punch on you) is pretty cool looking, although I'm sure it will take a lot of getting used to.
At the very least, maybe the melee-heavy gameplay of AvP will lure away some of the commando knife whores who continue to plague MW2. :)
Dude, you go knife versus gun and nobody can call you a whore.

Gamespot gave it a 5.5 out of 10.

Funny you mention that, because honestly, playing as the Predator was the only part of the demo I found entertaining. However, due to some of the broken (apparently patched now?) play mechanics most of that fun was overshadowed by frustration.
Still, I only played the demo, but apparently the full game isn't getting glowing reviews either.

Gamespot gave it a 5.5 out of 10.
Well, as long as we're throwing out numbers, IGN UK gave it an 8.5 (http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/106/1068446p2.html). :)
That being said, I think we'll need to wait for a lot more reviews to roll into the composite aggregators before we draw much of a conclusion there. 55% -> 85% is a pretty big initial spread. Hopefully we'll see the figure normalize as more data roll in.
Still, though, I think personal impressions are the ultimate deciding factor. And if, after giving the game a fair shake either via the demo, gameplay footage, or word of mouth, it's not appealing to you, then that's really the only score that matters.

They can in a world where 5 bullet wounds put you near death, but a single stab = immediate game over. :)

Bioshock 2 game of the year?!? I can not for the life of me understand why this game is getting the high scores that it's getting.
I will agree that a fully upgraded drill is awesome!

Yeah, I'm still not feeling it. It's only February and this year is looking totally awesome for games. Mass Effect 2 is a strong contender, but we have 10 more months left :)
