The only reason those characters are remembered so fondly was because of the awesome games on PSX. There is just about nothing memorable about this new turd of a game, and sugar-coating this piling steam of shit with a trip down memory lane adds insult to injury...
Yes, I hate RE5 with a passion.

You hate a truly amazing game. That's okay, but people always seem to bash RE5 for the wrong reasons.
1. "It isn't horror like previous RE games!"
Okay, but how does that make it a bad game?
2. "It's an ACTION game this time!"
And a DAMN good one.
Um... that's about it. 2 main complaints, neither that deny that RE5 is a pretty damn good game.
Dunno if I care much about Burton or Chambers in Mercs, but I am sure looking forward to the new episodes.

While I can agree with the fact Resident Evil 5 is a great game, I still felt a bit disappointed when comparing it to 4. It just didn't have the same flow and great levels and gripping narrative.
That, and the whole inventory system was broken. It felt like they had an idea in mind and decided to stick with it by doing minor adjustments instead of completely revamping it. There were too many ways you could take advantage of those crazy between-level shopping sessions and item swapping... and it still was clumsy if you were just trying to play. And on top of all that it pretty much defeated any attempt of suspension of disbelief.
Yes, I miss the crazy salesman from RE4.
RE4 was superior to RE5. But that doesn't mean RE5 is a bad game, it's actually very fun to play. It's like comparing Super Metroid with Metroid Prime, both hold out to be great games, it just that some prefer the sidescroller, and other the FPS.

I really liked RE:5 a lot. A friend of mine and me started together and finished it three (sleepless) days later,
Afterwards I'm very glad the mercenary mode is in the game... A lot of times we'll be on live, not knowing what to play, and one of us simple says: "If you kill multiple enemies in a row...." and we'll load up RE:5 and go at it...
Also, I'm very glad that Barry Burton is going to be in... He was funny and for the last years we've made fun thousands of time of him... I hope he has his trusty Colty with him..
And to finish:
"Don't worry Jill.....I have THIS!"

Why does Rebecca still look and sound like a 17-year-old? Hasn't it been like a decade since RE1?
