Thanks to Sgtslappy for getting the scoop. StarCraft II is headed into official beta THIS MONTH. No more speculating based on minor website updates, we've got word from the Activision investor call that this is a done deal.

As a longtime egomaniac of capital proportions, I know I deserve to be invited.
*They NEED my opinions!

....but it only says beta 'ready to launch this month'. Does this mean it will actually be launched this month. Damn you Blizzard for making me a skeptic.
Though I dunno why I worry, Europe is set to be the last region to get the Beta, so about April for us then. Of course I will get an invite, of course I will.

I think they put it in somewhat vague terms just to entice people. Seriously.

Blizzard games can be in beta for a LONG time, so I wonder what this says about how far they are in development.
I call this (http://twitter.com/StarCraft/status/8927571125) a pretty good comfirmation :)

I wish I didn't know this. I will now be checking my email every second of every day pulling my hair out waiting for an invite.

I wonder if never putting my SC cd keys into battle.net will have an effect on my beta invite. I have diablo and wow and stuff on there, but can't find my SC keys.
They better invite me damnit!!!!

Did you notice "in-game VAS"? That stands for "In-Game Value Added Services", which means they will start charging for things like buffs, gear and competitive advantages over players who don't pay.
Maybe there will be ways to get it without spending bucks, like league of legends...?

Couldn't be further from the truth. Blizzard only lets you buy cosmetic changes. They have never/will never allow purchases to decide the strength of your account.

All in all, it's all ones and zeros, every little bit. So yes it's fair, but it's all imaginary ^.^
Also, I about hyperventilated when I saw beta this month, and even now my heart beats faster knowing that within 9 months I will have Starcraft (adds Starcraft to spellchecker) 2.

Am I the only one in the world who doesn't care/want to be in the beta for SC. I'd rather wait until its done. afterall I only played SC for the story anyway. I guess it also comes down to not being a fan of RTS Games.
JUHUUUUUU! I really want that e-mail. Please Blizzard!
I beg you to ruin my Master Thesis (just begun) with this game!

I'm right there with you. In fact, I don't really care about Starcraft 2 all that much.
