Demon's Souls is one of those games that takes a while to get into, but when you do, it becomes one of the coolest video game experiences ever. I mean, where else can you experience such a fantastic sense of satisfaction just from defeating an end boss (well, aside from maybe having a real world sense of satisfaction, but I digress).

According to a post on NeoGAF (http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=387163) (via 1Up (http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3177884)), on the podcast for Dengeki Games, they mention working on an "unannounced sequel to a game which came out last year, slated to be released in Fall of 2010." and that it's really difficult. People are implying that this is the sequel to Demon's Souls, but this is all speculation and it'll be coming to Japan first.

Ahhhh. Maybe I should get around to finishing the first game. I love it but I can't seem to get myself to put in the effort! Other than that, bring it on. I'm all for it.

Yes! Like Steel, I haven't completed Demon's Souls YET; but I continue to play and get forward progress. I'm at Soul Level 53, and easily 1/2 done. I'll definitely beat this awesome game, and it really isn't as hard as every one says. All the tools you need to succeed are given to you; it's up to you to learn what to do.

This time, I will not miss out on the collector edition. They were serious (http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B002GJRQQY/ref=dp_olp_new?ie=UTF8&qid=1265819082&sr=8-2&condition=new) when they said "limited."

I would be all over this.

I'd much rather FROM make Enchanted Arms 2, than a sequel to the biggest masochistic frustration fest in gaming. I sold my copy weeks ago.

i love FROM software. They tend to do really unique things and then clean up all the loose ends to create very worthwhile sequels.

Except for Armored Core, i don't really know what happened there.

The game is punishingly difficult, but it is easier if you know which routes to avoid, which monsters to wait on facing until you're high enough level to tackle them, which items help most, and you pick the right class for your play style. But unless you have a guide, you figure that out on your own, mostly by trial and error. That is why the game is hard. It doesn't ever hold your hand, or explain why you shouldn't run along the path that has two dragons guarding it.

Another chance for Sony to sell more controllers. :D

Meh. A mediocre gaming hiding it's faults behind an obvious gimmick (lack of checkpoints/saves) only appeals to those who think they have something to prove via gaming.

Welcome to the 2% minority (http://www.metacritic.com/games/platforms/ps3/demonssouls?q=demon%27s%20souls).

I derive enjoyment from overcoming challenges.

Gaming or real life, it doesn't matter. The more difficult the challenge, the more I enjoy overcoming it.

I'm gonna have to disagree with you there. While at first I didn't quite get it, after beating the first level it all clicked. The game isn't hard in an unfair way, you learn from your mistakes and it makes you a better player for it. I jumped into the second world after finishing the first and made it all the way to the end without dying because I learned how it works.

It really is one of the most interesting games to come out last year. I wish I had time to play more of it.
