On the most recent episode of the Jace Hall show, we saw a sneaky picture of what appeared to be a female monk for Diablo III. Today, Blizzard has updated (http://us.blizzard.com/diablo3/characters/monk.xml) their official site showing off both a male and female monk. Additionally, if you jump over to the Barbarian (http://us.blizzard.com/diablo3/characters/barbarian.xml) and Wizard (http://us.blizzard.com/diablo3/characters/wizard.xml) pages, you'll see female versions of those as well (Wizard has full animated model while Barbarian has concept art), indicating that along with picking a class, you'll be able to select a gender for your character.

We still don't know when this will be released, but I bet it'll come out at the same time as Grim Dawn.

This flies in the face of everything Blizzard has stood for in the past. I am shocked and appalled.

We've known that there would be both gender options for a while now...

This new trailer, however, is pretty pimp:

Bah. They saved a decent amount of development time by having classes be set to a single gender in Diablo I & II, so they could have gotten away with this again as it is traditional. That time could have been used to make more gear or monsters or levels, etc. (or to push the game out faster)

"More genders" left me wondering how many there are, exactly...

People that play WoW would be quite upset if they had no gender options to choose from in the Diablo universe. Hopefully I'll be able to make my witch doctors hair green too. :D

It was revealed in the first developer demo, that each class would have both genders. The news is really only the image of the female monk, isn't it?

They showed male and female versions of the classes (and indicated that all classes would have gender options) back in June 2007 when they announced Diablo III. The real news here is this is the first time the female Monk was revealed.

They've been tweeting (http://twitter.com/Diablo/status/8201434477) about the female monk reveal for a while as well.

...So it’s a bad thing that Blizzard has made their game more accessible and potentially deeper?
