Starting tomorrow, February 9th, ME2 owners will be able to get the Ceberus Assault Armor and M-22a Eviscerator Shotgun from the Cerberus Network for free! Want screen shots or more information? Click here (http://masseffect.bioware.com/universe/arsenal/armor/)!

Cerberus Assault Armor
Cerberus assault armor is designed for shock troops, turn the tide of battle against creatures or forces that would decimate normal soldiers.
Increases heavy weapon ammo capacity by +10%
Increases shields by +10%
Increases health by +10%

M-22a Eviscerator Shotgun
The M-22a Eviscerator Shotgun is a longer-range shotgun with armor-piercing loads. This design also violates several intergalactic weapons treaties, so the M-22a is not distributed to militaries.

I don't like the look of the armor but the shotgun sounds nice.

Looks like I'll have to take my 360 to my friend's place (again) to get these updates since I don't have internet hooked up in my apartment yet. I've been playing the living crap outta ME2, and have enjoyed all of it so far.

Violates several treaties? A shotgun? I guess that means it uses some proprietary tech because unless it fires babies or slugs laden with poison that stays in the general area for years, I don't see how armor-piercing weaponry that'd kill off whatever it's pointing at faster and with less pain ought to be banned from use by the military of all things. Civilians, sure.

Do you have to buy access to the Cerberus Network if you didn't buy the game? I got it through Gamefly and recieved no code, and it wants me to enter the code or use MS points to access the network right now. Count me out if I have to buy the ability to buy DLC. If not, awesome.

The Cerberus is $15 if you didn't buy the game new. It's Biowares way of rewarding people for buying the game new.

The code came with new copies of Mass Effect 2. If you buy it used or rent it you would have to pay $15 (I think) to access the Cerberus Network...so, return it to gamefly and go get a new copy. :D

BTW, I like the Spaceballs reference. :D

I haven't checked the marketplace, but I recall them saying that anything available on Cerberus would also be on XBLM proper. You won't get these 'free' things, but you will have access to add-ons.

Or you could buy the game from Gamefly and get the manual in a day or two.

nice, my bug armor is starting to get itchy, time for a change.

on a side note, i love how in this version i have an actual use for every gun type as a soldier. i mean i'm finding a situationally appropriate use for different weapons constantly. not just sticking to one all the time.

still don't like the shotgun too much, but it has been usefull in a couple instances.

40 hours in, have about 4 more member to join me and more planets to strip mine.

I was a little disappointed by the armours, mostly because you can't give it to your squad but also because after spending time customising my look I get given full body armour that covers it all and makes me look like an orange doom marine or a giant bug. Chest, arm, leg and head pieces that make a set would have been nicer.

I hate how all the non N-7 armors cover his face.

Whats the point of making an avatar and having extremely good lip-synching if you can't see the damn face?

All it took was a single shot through the visor and i defaulted back to the n-7 armor for the rest of the game, stats be damned - I actually want to see my main character!

Yup, same here. When I first walked out of the Normandy with this stupid helmet on, I turned on the spot and went back to the standard outfit.

What's the point with rad glowing scars if I can't intimidate my enemies with them?

Inferno armor and blood dragon armor just looked horrible and not that great of bonuses. Curses to you gamestop and dr. pepper.

Wouldn't the one-time code already be used though?

Too late, I already beat it. Just put it in ME3 and give me a fucking inventory to look at it in.

Shouldnt be. No one gets the instruction manuals from Gamefly. They just stay in the original case until someone buys them, then they ship it to you.

Cerberus is an incentive to buy the game new; it gives you access to additional free DLC. If you bought the game used, you'd have to pay for the ability to get additional free DLC.

In your case, you'd spend $15 to get everything they release over the Cerberus network, which is already quite a bit.

Last week's CAGcast has a good interview with the lead designer on ME2, who discusses the face-covering armor complaints.

Warning: audio quality is shit for about 50% of it.

Yeah, I didn't like to walk with the helmet too. I like to see my feminine face :)

ehehe

True.

At the same time, an uncovered head in space combat where lasers and missiles are flying about seems silly as well. I compromised with that helmet that gives full head protection but shows his face. Don't recall the name. *shrug*

For extra playthroughs, I'll consider things like the foreboding-looking Deathspeaker helmet (whatever the hell it's called that gives conversation bonuses)

They should have done the helmet like this one:

Frankly, if they were able to pull that off with the animated helmet on/off....that'd just be too awesome and I'd geek out.

I kept expecting it really. I think I've seen something like it in another game.

Oh, for spdiscus's post about that interview, the helmet stuff's about 50 minutes in.

I prefer the N7 armor with various purchased pieces that add more to shields and shield strength as opposed to the other sets. That shotgun will be nice though when it comes to Husk rushes.

I've been rocking the sniper rifle recently for Husk rushes.

Sniper maxed out+Inferno maxed out is awesome. Two hits for collectors.

This.

I hated the decision they made with the weapons and armour. There was so little armour in the game that they might as well have not bothered and just let you do the colours/patterns.

I liked the system over ME1 and its endless line of weapons/armor that had no real effect besides increased stats. You had basically 3 armor lines with various textures each and 4 weapons.

What I didn't like from ME2 was even though I loved the customization of the N7 armor, there weren't enough pieces (The Dr. Pepper head gear helped) and I wish the weapons had retained the customization slots. I did like how all the weapons were meaningful and different but I wish there were a bit more choices and having another shotgun is a welcome addition.

I was buying Armour pieces all over the galaxy. I mostly stuck with the health increasing bits, but found the ammo upping arm band helpful as well.

I hated the helmet thing too, and it wouldn't have been that difficult to fix. Just remove the helmet in non-combat situations.
