Reverie World Studios, the developers of the upcoming MMORTS, Dawn of Fantasy, unveiled a new, fully 3D World Map for the game's Online Kingdom mode.

This map features a brand new user interface, dynamic seasonal changes, scale replicas of the NPC strongholds, quest areas, and the player's homeland, as well as markers representing the player's armies and allied armies. Players will be able to group their units into armies and send them on anywhere in the map, track their progress over each region with a zoomed-in instanced view, and set up army camps with varied defenses (for a small fee) anywhere on the map. These armies can scout, quest, trade, or lay siege to any of the NPC and enemy strongholds.
While the new map represents the whole game world of Mythador, the developers state that the map will add very little load time in comparison with the former 2D World Map, as it is instanced together with the player's homeland and every precaution has been taken - including creating an entire new set of objects with shrunken models and textures - to reduce load time.
