IGN gets out another early review (http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/106/1066915p3.html) giving Bioshock 2 a 9.1 / 10.

It's going to be a familiar experience for anyone that played the original, but BioShock 2's improvements to gameplay and its more focused storyline make for a game that's more playable and easier to digest. Some of the sense of awe and mystery is lost in transition, but the strength of the setting and more interesting implementation of moral choice make for an experience that's more consistent and rewarding. Anyone looking for a first-person shooter that offers more than flat, stereotypical characters and copy-and-paste supersoldier plots, one that attempts to establish a sense of right and wrong and loops you into the decision making process, and one that's set in one of the most vividly realized settings around should pick up BioShock 2. It's a game in which story, setting, and gameplay are expertly blended to create an experience that's as thought-provoking as it is entertaining.

More focused storyline? I guess I have to read the review to know what that means. For some reason that sounds like a negative to me.

Yeah, I thought the exact same thing.

It doesn't sound like Sanders Cohen comes back, which would disappoint me greatly.

Well I killed him, so I hope he doesn't come back.

On the 2nd play through I let him live.

OXM gave it a 9.5 if I recall correctly.

Evidently they are making the multiplayer allow you to unlock plasmids and weapons like people do in MW2. I wish the review went more into what modes are available in multiplayer (not a fan of just deathmatch as in most games it encourages camping, which I don't like as much).

Yep, you're right.

I was really worried about this game because of the repeated delays and using 5 different developers, but it's sounding like it turned out well in the end, afterall.

I didn't really feel the storyline in the first one was all that difficult to follow unless they mean it has less twists to it.

I will get this on a price drop or steam sale, but I am glad it turned out well.

Definately glad to see solid reviews coming in. Just for the IP alone, I have this pre-ordered and paid in full. Tuesday can't come fast enough.

I'm really looking forward to this one. I loved BioShock. I played it through at least four times.

Sounds good!
I wonder what the focused story line means? Perhaps its a bit more... obvious? A little less mystery? At the start?

I dont even know.

Either way ill be picking this up when I get back from vacation.

Bioshock was fun until you got to the Leadhead Splicers (machine gun toting ones) that took *over* one full clip of machine gun ammunition to kill. Even after researching them multiple times with the camera. That just killed all immersion for me and it got boring after that.

There's something wrong with unloading a full clip of ammunition at a splicer's head and have them still live.
