WoW is calling to me. It's saying, "Neglect your family. Ruin your life. Resistance is futile."

I'm still resisting, but it's tugging at me.

Johan, it's a great MMO (take that for what its worth). But the 1-60 content is definitely showing its age. Burning Crusade fixed the whole quests giving absolute shit for rewards. WotLK made the world feel a lot more alive and like something was actually happening (finishing Dragonblight for the first time was quite awesome, as is the Death Knight starting zone).

Hopefully Cataclysm will bring both of those things to the 1-60 content, but as it stands, even though they drastically cut the XP requirements to level, you're still going to be running around doing pretty standard quests that don't always seem to tie into much of anything. Not to mention, assuming blizzard is smart enough to disallow race change to the new races for the first couple months, there should be a large influx of lower level characters for you to tool around with.

Or you could just level a hunter.

With the new dungeon finding tool you can pretty much run instances all the way to 80.

So is gogamer.com like a sponsor or something or do they just get free advertising in the middle of the news section what seems like at least once a week?

I mean if they're a sponsor I guess that's cool, or if these posts happened every once in awhile and they weren't a sponsor it would be ok too.

I'm not trying to start a big shitstorm here or anything, I just feel like this isn't really news so much as it is advertising at this point. The deals offered never even seem very compelling.

If only they lowered the monthly cost I would get back into it.

I started doing them over a year ago because they have some good deals and I've been buying games from them for years. I have continued to do them because much of the response has been positive, many readers have thanked us for the heads-up on items they got at a good price and I'm trying to help them stay in the black during rough economic times.

I personally find the madness announcements useful; without them I would never know when a sale was happening...

Heh. Eheh. Oh god it hurts.

The rest of Juvenfly's comments are spot-on - but for a first-timer the zones and the newness will probably carry you up to 80 just fine. I'm currently leveling a character for the billionth time in the Barrens and Mankrik's wife has started to whisper in my ears whenever my hand leaves the mouse. She says she just wants to play but I don't believe her.

Ahem...uhh...also, the new dungeon-matching system is great, and the daily (!) reward of a blue item for completing a random dungeon is a nice candy-coating for what was otherwise a rough ride to 60.

Been playing WoW since launch* with the whiz-bang Collector's Edition, and I finally have my undead warlock to level 53... almost to 60! :)

* OK, not continuously since launch, but it still takes a damn long time to get anywhere, even with easier leveling. How in the world do so many people have multiple 80s???
