Capcom has released the final box art for Super Street Fighter IV. Click the headline to check out some bigger versions. Sadly, there's no new characters visible but it's a nice looking box.

I still don't know what to do about this.

I own SF4 and I really like it but I'm not sure if this is worth picking up for a couple new characters. Plus they still haven't announced the price and I wonder why they couldn't have just made it available as DLC.

While they haven't announced the price, one of the first things they told people was that it wont be full price. I'm guessing $39.99 for it. Additionally, they also told people that if you bought it before, you'll get "something."

I love SFIV, so I'm on this.

They have claimed that the changes aren't conducive to being released as DLC. The lobby system needs a major overhaul, so I can see why.

I play SFIV more than any other game (http://steamcommunity.com/id/brandonjclark/games), but it's really turned into a love-hate relationship of the unhealthy kind. I get physically upset when I lose, and overly-happy when I win. I could be losing my mind for all I know.

Anyways, the point is that the game is extremely unbalanced, slow and the paper-rock-scissors determinations are beyond retarded.

Unless there was a major change to the fighting system(doubt it) and characters like Sakura and Fei Long are pumped up while others like Zangief and Sagat are nerfed, I WILL NOT purchase this game. Capcom shits out most of their games lately, and although this was a much better effort than what's recently been released, it's just not everything I was hoping for.

When 9 out of the 10 people you play online are either Ken, Ryu, Zangief or Sagat, the game is lost in a sea of unfun.
When you cannot pass a level of Time Attack (8 out of 20!.. on Normal!) with your best character yet can kick the shit out of 40-50% of the people you play online, the game is lost in a sea of unfun.
When, in order to beat said Time Attack level you have to use Zangief and his faggot-ass green hand OF GOD attack like everyone else on the Internet YoutTubes, the game is lost in a sea of unfun.
When you have to play and beat a game 20 times over against the WORST CHARACTER EVER in a game(Seth) just to unlock the characters you paid for, the game is lost in a sea of unfun.
When you unlock said characters and never return to single player. Ever. ... the game is lost in a sea of unfun.
get the point?

That digested, I will without a doubt be playing another three to four hours of it tonight. Yes, it's like crack. You know it's wrong but you can't stop. You literally ask yourself during the act why you're doing it but continue. This is a game of utter mind control, and I wholeheartedly HATE IT! Wanna play me?

That's their argument. I don't buy it, so I won't buy it!

Also, the past few SF games I've bought have been far, far, FAR too hard against the AI (XBLA, I'm looking at you), and I just didn't enjoy them. At all.

As I say often on the podcast, you're doing it wrong.

On topic:

Cover is too busy, the white bg has poor contrast with the title, and insufficient cheesecake.

Well I'm not gonna make the same mistakes. Gonna wait for the PC version.

They're doing it wrong, if they don't allow for enough differentiation/range in difficulty settings so that someone who has played hundreds of hours on past SF games can enjoy a recent title. Their easiest setting was far too hard. Ridiculous.

The cover is ok, not great. Whatever... I still have to buy, no matter the price.

Now I just have to figure out how to get a tournament to last less that 7 hours.

I've seen highly skilled players blow through the game on easiest and then get to Seth and have to play him 16 times in a row unless they changed characters.

I actually enjoy games with torturous difficulty levels, and I love SF4, but it really is imbalanced. I'm hoping they tweak the character balance in the "Super" edition.

So in this case I have to agree with Johan, because he is in the majority of people who feel the game is too difficult.

Now, if you'll excuse me...

I did not enjoy Street Fighter IV. All it took was having to beat seth to unlock the characters i want and i gave up.

Seriously, i give up. Street Fighter IV ceased being fun to me. I recently started playing BlazBlue again and holy shit is it a better fighter in all regards. I'll be buying Continuum Shift day 1. I'll be buying super street fighter IV never.

...I may be getting Tatsunoko vs Capcom pretty soon.

I don't know about SF2:CE or SSF2T:HDR on XBLA, but in SF4, on the easiest difficulty setting, you can beat every character as any character by doing nothing but standing heavy kicks over and over again. Or at least, that's the first thing I did when I got the game in order to unlock all the characters.

That being said, having to do that SUCKED. I totally agree with BJC about how stupid it was to have so many characters locked when you first start a game that you JUST SHELLED OUT $60+ for. All fighting games should handle it just like Tekken 6. THAT'S how a fighting game's character list should look the first time you pop it in your console.

I really liked BlazBlue. It had an excellent fighting system combined with some really interesting characters / art.
I don't think it's better than SF4, but that's just personal opinion.

And that's coming from a guy whose favorite fighting game is and will always be Mortal Kombat 2. :)

Oh, and as for the cover, I think it sucks. Boring, plain, 4 characters from the first game. At least the marquees and covers for Super Street Fighter 2 had the shadows of all the new characters on it.

I have no idea where I heard it but I believe Capcom said that all the characters will be unlocked from the start and —now this is where I want to light what little hair I have left on fire— that Seth would actually be more difficult.

With all the characters being unlocked, that really doesn't matter. I won't have to play against him.

Maybe that's the idea....:

Get everyone talking about how hard/shitty Seth is so noone wants to pirate the singleplayer.
