Attention sports fans! (And fans of mindless violence.) SouthPeak games sends along three new videos featuring gameplay from their upcoming title, Blood Bowl.
Keep an eye out next week when SouthPeak Games' Blood Bowl for PC and Xbox 360 will hit retail shelves in what is anticipated as the most electrifying moment in sports entertainment history. Sorry Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, but these days Blood Bowl is the reigning champion of true sports entertainment. Besides, you'll never see an Orc or Skaven playing the tooth fairy on the big screen. Truth.

May the Chaos gods be with you.

This makes me remember a coin-op game called Pigskin that was an absolute riot. Might have to look into it, if no other way than via a Goozex trade.

They've got the animations looking great. I'll need to try it for myself, though to see if the interface for the actual gameplay is interesting and not just some barebones text and lines on a background. I've played the tabletop version, so I may actually pick this up on 360. (For those of you who have already been playing it on PC or in Europe on the 360, how is it?)
Oh, and lols at anyone who watches these and is expecting a "Madden with monsters" game. :)

I, too, was waiting for this to come to the 360 (originally announced as an xbla title, but since expanded).
Definitely looks fun, and I've heard the tabletop rules and turn-based mode are intact. I just wonder how the interface is on the xbox.

I believe the game you would be looking for in that case is Mutant League Football (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mutant_League_Football). :p

Didn't I see these videos months and months ago? In fact, haven't I had this game for months as well... let me check - yep, here it is right here, I've been playing it since last summer. :)
I found it weird that they released it in Europe before America, since interests in American football is practically non-existant over here. A friend of mine actually reviewed the game for a magazine, and gave it a 5/10.

It came out on Steam a few months back---mid to late summer?
I got it then. There also was a 16bit version for my Amiga a loooong time ago.

I don't think it's a huge market for it up here in Norway though.

I wonder how well an EA Rugby game would sell in both markets. Has anyone ever made one of those??

Hmm, I guess so:

Rugby - EA made a couple of great games in Rugby 2006 and Rugby 2008, but so far no new installment has been made for this generation of consoles. Rugby is an incredibly popular sport worldwide if not in the US and I'm still surprised that one hasn't been made yet.
