Capcom just sent out a mailing letting everyone know that Resident Evil 5: Gold Edition now has a new website (http://residentevil.com/gold) that you can take a look at, outlining all the stuff about this new release that you'll want to know... if you're interested that is. Additionally, they've released a trailer to go along with it which you can find after the break.

RE5 was one of the most mediocre AAA titles I've ever played in my life, and thus, was one of the most disappointing games I've ever played. This looks like it'll be more of the same. I like the mansion setting though, so at least it's got that going for it.

Zetsui, lay off the hard drugs. RE5 was one of the best games ever made.

Yeah, maybe if it was your first videogame, I could see you thinking that.

So what do you get in the Gold edition that you don't get in the original?

Not sure about your horse, but my horse doesn't need a damn thing... because you see... my horse is AMAZING.

RE5 was the worst piece of uninspiring shit in the series. Want to go to Africa, play Far Cry 2. Resident Evil have always been about cool military bases where experiments have gone bad. If its in the middle of a crowded city, even better.

Shame on the lack of a PC version. But considering that CD Projekt handled the PC port, maybe they'll throw all this stuff in for free?

Been waiting for this. Time to add re5 back to my collection. More Jill= must buy. To the haters... Whaaaat? Maybe I'm just an RE fanboy, but I logged so many hours of co-op... Killin zombies never gets old. Plus I love the story, plus going back and making wesker the boss..finally. I don't see the problem. I found far cry 2 to be lackluster and really crappy. You can't sneak up on anyone.. What was the point in having silenced weapons?

RE5 impressed me... primarily from the coop aspect. Playing single player sucked because the friendly Ai was TERRIBLE. The controls in RE5 were purposely bad, and that detracts a lot from the game.. but to be honest, the game just works, and it plays well, and looks fantastic.

I liked RE 5 so this is a buy for me.

RE5 was fun but it didn't feel like survival horror. Even on vet there was always enough supplies and I never really felt the tension from the earlier games, with a partner to pick you up all the time the risk factor is a bit low.

Still a good fun action game.

Some of the costumes in the trailer I get unlocked after completing the game on the PC version.

I agree with the posts above, FUCK THE HATERS. RE5 was allot of fun, espically the co op storyline which I played threw with a friend like 3 or 4 times, the graphics and level design were also first rate. I'll be picking this up.

I was just thinking "man every time I see 'Modeps' now I think of that song" literally as I was moving from your name after the mention of horses on the previous post to your post itself. Sweet lemonade, mmm sweet lemonade.

I enjoyed RE5. It should be noted I played the entire thing co-op, not sure if that holds any weight. Not the best game I've ever played, and a lot of the pure horror elements in the series were lost, but I wouldn't call it mediocre either. Great for what it was. Still haven't bothered with looking at the DLC though, might have to check that out.

As a huge fan of Jill Valentine, I'm really looking forward to this.

The DLC that is, not the retail game as I already have the LE of RE5.

-Ah yes, Jill Valentine, that eponymous filly. She's definitely a widespread favorite--so to speak >_>

Err, anyway, she was ranked as the #2 hottest real-life videogame Cosplay babe in this recent article (http://www.videogamelists.com/top-10-real-life-video-game-babes).

Don't let BrandonJClark see this, he might start looking for cosplay conventions again :P

And thank god Tifa from FFVII gets her due in that article, I always liked her so much better than Aeris. Aeris died and I was like 'tevs'.

Yuna from FFX actually pulled off what Aeris was trying to be 1000 times better--in fact I wonder if there's a creative influence there.

I have played bits and pieces of this with friends and honestly, the magic was gone for me because I wasn't scared. . . or anxious is perhaps a better word. The other games had me tensely trying to avoid dying and I found them exciting and fun. I'd like to go into why it wasn't scary, but I need to play more of it to figure that out.

RE5 while not terrible, wasn't nearly as good as RE4. I don't want an AI partner. Loner with a gun, that's how I like to play. To me RE5 was to RE what "The Temple of Doom" was to Indiana Jones. Weak, set in a place I couldn't give a crap about, with extra characters that just annoyed me. Just not what I was looking forward to.

The undertone set through robbing poor black people of their treasures and the gratuitous "white chicks getting molested by big black guys" thing sort of bugged me (blond getting dragged off in that shanty town).

I've played through it a couple times so, I'm not just a hater.

Thee posts make me laugh. I don't know what some of you people were expecting, but I was expecting a great, fun game. And I got it. I feel sorry for people that couldn't enjoy it because they hyped it up too much in their heads to be the best game that would ever be made or something. I feel bad for people that couldn't enjoy it for the great gamer it was.

And YOUR only gripe... was that it was set in Africa? PLEASE at least give some valid reason to bash the game.

Fortunately for those of you stuck in the past, the originals are still playable on many platforms.

Meanwhile, Capcom will continue to show other console game makers how graphics, creature design, and fight choreography in real time cinema scenes should be done on a modern console.
