Along with the new MoH:A media come new screenshots from Taito's (http://www.taito.co.jp/eng/) Xbox 360 exclusive fliying sim - Over G. (http://www.taito.co.jp/d3/cp/waf/)
You can see them all here (http://watch.impress.co.jp/game/docs/20060307/overg.htm) on Game Watch.
Over G launches in Japan on 3.16.2006.
Holy crap... PC flying sims from 2000 had better graphics.

Don't know if I'd be that hard on it, looks nice. I'd like to see a semi-future flying sim that uses the F-35 though:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/F-35
Edit: I, apparently, am way too tired, as this game DOES have the F-35 right in the screenshots. *sigh* I need some sleep.

I don't know. It looks more like a Sim than an arcade title. Arcade titles are going to have better graphics because they aren't going to concentrate at all on weapon & cockpit realism and good flying physics.

YouŽre exagerating, but it certainly doesnt compare to FSX http://www.tothegame.com/sshotfeat.asp?screen=6186&pic=9

IŽd bet its an arcade game in the likes of ace combat.

You can't have a "sim" when using a joypad it does not work. But if microsoft allowed me to hook up my sidewinder force feedback I will be sold---not gonna happen though.

I played this game at the Tokyo Game Show. It's a hard core sim in the "simulator" mode. I was pretty shocked. It's more in line with Lock-On than ace combat.

Yes, but think Lock-On with reality turned down, rather than Ace Combat. It's a sim with lots of helpers.

I dunno, it looks pretty good to me, and I fly a shitload of sims (just ask Evil). Prettiest I've ever seen? Nope, but certainly really decent. I think they could stand to tighten up the ground textures, for sure, but overall looks good.

Flight sims have never been the top of the line graphics wise. My dad, to this day, still uses flight sims for training, and none of them look that great.
Arcady flight games, w/ huge cities we can blow up, spoil us quite a bit in the graphics department.

Did you honestly think that Japanese devs are going to put effort in a game on what is basically a dead system over there?

Lock on is a fighter sim and has excellent graphics
So does Pacific Fighters.
And I trully doubt that a SIM can be played on a gamepad, which 90 keys short.

i don't think they were planning on competing with pc flight sims, but as far as i recall, this is probably the ONLY attempt to ever even put a real flight sim on a console. so congrats to them for actually TRYING something >>>> NEW <<<< for the 360, its about the only unique game on it that i've seen (other then oblivion).

Looks like an Ace Combat Clone, by the graphics. The 360 graphics aren't that... Revolutionary? Hahahahahahaha

Saulob, what kinda of planes you like flying?
If you like jets, you can play either Falcon 4 Allies Forces or Lock On Gold (or both), they're both good for different reasons.
If you like WW2 planes, pick IL2 Forgotten Battles Gold + Pacific Fighters, and you'll be able to fly dozens and dozens of classics.
All these games are true combat flight sims.

-Ever hear of Operation Flashpoint: Elite? (xbox) Its incredible what you can do with a controller in that game, yes, it is a[combat] sim.

Aero Elite: Combat Academy PS2 released ages ago. It got a bad review but i played it to death, and loved it. Easy to play difficult to master. Another console sim: Steel Battalion and Steel Battalion: Line of contact both utilise a 40 button controller + console controller. LOC runs at 720p on the XBOX.
Plenty...err a couple of excellent console sims out there.

Bundle the game with a headset and use voice activation.

What Stormwatcher said. ;) All three (well, four, if you want to count Il-2 FB + Pacific Fighters as seperate entities) pretty much top-shelf choices.
My personal favorite is Pacific Fighters (merged install with IL-2 FB, of course), but modern-era wise, it's a toss up between Lock On and Falcon 4.0 Allied Force. You can't really go wrong with either one. Lock On gives you more variety as far as what you can fly, but Falcon gives the F-16 a fidelity no other study sim has come close to approaching. Just make sure you want to learn about the avionics if you're determined to go hardcore on these two. ;)
