Major Nelson's blog (http://www.majornelson.com/) is reporting (http://www.majornelson.com/2006/03/06/title-updates/) that updates for various 360 titles have been released on Xbox Live!

There are some title updates that were released earlier today. Here is the complete list:

King Kong
Xbox 360 Arcade: Smash TV
Toryumon
Xbox 360 Arcade: Hardwood Hearts
Madden NFL 06

To get the update, you’ll have to be connected to Xbox Live and start the title.

I do not have details on what each of these update contains, but I’ll see if I can get that get information from the individual publishers.
Anyone get these yet?

Damn CoD2 isn't on the list! My heart skipped a beat when I read this hoping it was one of the games.

Was the smash tv co op achievement bugged? I never fiddled with the default settings, but I was awarded nothing for finishing it co op with my friend the other day.
Hopefully it was bugged, and this update will have fixed that.

I read the title, and was hoping for COD2. Alas, nothing.

Gaaaaaaaaaaah, no CoD2 update? Let's go Activision and IW. I've beat the game at every conceivable single player level and would like to enjoy the multi-player. Especially once I found out they included several of the original CoD (PC) multiplayer maps. *cry*

I'm surprised about how many buggy 360 games there seems to be (at least in this thread), especially given all of the talk here a few years ago about how great the new consoles (like the Xbox) were going to be because patches would become a thing of the past.

I love it when people come in here with statements like that.

I don't think you will find anyone that knows anything about games or programming that will claim all console game is bug free. The difference is rarely has anyone had problems putting the DVD in and playing the game. Then there is the PC where you might need driver X, CPU Y, Video Card Z just to play.

The ease of use is what people like about console -- not that their games are perfect.

I believe the Co-Op one is online only.

Damn, I was hoping I'd actually be able to play NHL2k6 in Season/Franchise mode...

Sorry, I'm not trying to troll here. But I do remember that before the first Xbox came around there was a lot of talk at EA about how people were fed up with PC patches and buggy games and were looking forward to relatively patch-free console games, primarily because the hardware would all be the same.

I was just making an observation that there seems to be quite a few game patches for the 360 -- which surprised me.

It's a shame but the reality of it is software is way way way more complex than it ever was and there's simply no such thing as bug free software anymore.

This is true especially now that more console games have a multiplayer component.

With patches becoming more prevalent and hardware prices going up, I think that consoles won't have many advantages over PC's in the near future, especially after one or two more cycles. At least the Xbox and Playstation consoles, if they continue on the same path.

Downloaded the patch for King Kong. It fixes the dark problem of the game by adding a gamma adjustment option in video. Very much needed!

At least it's good to know that developers can address balance issues, malfunctioning features and other painful stuff with patches.

That doesn't mean they should ship broken products.

Thanks bap, that would explain it.

So, who wants to play through Smash TV this weekend with me then?

Lonely Rabbit, I would be happy to join you but I found that, when playing online in Smash TV, my game always ended somewhere on the second level. I was never sure if it was a limited amount of lives thing or what, but hopefully this patch fixes that problem.

On top of PGR's much needed patch, that people have mentioned here, there is also the matter of Outpost Kaloki X, and the impossible to get gold medal achievements there.

Of course, at this point I just want some NEW XBL games! When's Street Figther/Worms/Mortal Kombat/Texas Hold 'Em coming out already??!?

Is Toryuman related to Japanese wrestling?
