Looks like you'll get to watch Netflix on the plaform of your choice which is great news for that family of four that only own a Wii. The Wii version of Netflix will perform just like the PS3's and will require an "instant streaming disc". The deal will 'officially' be announced later today according to the New York Times (http://www.nytimes.com/2010/01/13/technology/companies/13netflix.html).
You can reserve your Wii disc here (http://www.netflix.com/InstantStreamingDisc?device=Wii). Thanks Spiff!
Nintendo president Reggie Fils-Aime called the addition of Netflix functionality "a continuation of an effort to bring more and more entertainment to consumers who interact with the Wii." The AP notes (via Engadget (http://www.engadget.com/2010/01/13/wii-streams-netflix-coming-spring-world-rejoices/)) that, like the PS3's implementation of the service, Netflix on Wii will require an "instant streaming disc."

Since I can't get HD on my Wii I may be moving it to the bedroom to watch movies on the smaller TV.

FYI, you can reserve your disc at http://www.netflix.com/InstantStreamingDisc?device=Wii
I prefer the integrated solution as on the 360, but am looking forward to being able to stream to the Wii since mine is in a bedroom by it's lonesome self. (360/PS3 are in different rooms).

You can watch the IT Crowd seasons 1 -3 and the Office seasons 1 - 5, that should keep you busy for a couple of days.

Thanks Spiff, I've added it to the original post. :)

There's quite a few television show seasons on there, which is great for someone like me that had never had a chance to watch shows like The Office and LOST. Movies are getting put on instant play more regularly, or at least that's what it seems like to me.

My wife and I tore through all of the IT crowd episodes in a single week. Such a great show, and my wife loved it even though she's nowhere near being a geek. Sort of like Seinfeld meets the Office meets... Fark? The only downside is there are only 18 episodes total. (What's up with UK's TV show seasons/series being only 6 episodes long?)

Streaming disc reserved...I mean, HEY I DON'T HAVE A Wii, I'M A MAN!

This seems like a good idea. With a known, reachable ceiling of 480p Dolby PLII, it should be a consistent stream with no 'your internet connection has slowed' popups.

Almost every night I throw Netflix up on my HTPC and watch a documentary or two. It has a surprising amount of content, IMO.

Meh...having to use a disc has a bit of fail in it, but since it doesn't cost me anything extra I won't complain that much. :D

You get those based on an inconsistent net connection, not your output resolution.
In my experience with wireless networking on the Wii, at best you'll get 1 bar and it'll drop out completely on a regular basis.
I need to get a netflix account...

I only get them when it switches from Netflix HD to a three-bar SD. With the Wii there would never be a reason for it to go beyond SD, giving me more consistent results, possibly with the headroom to go from stereo to PLII. /assumptions

Netflix streaming is excellent. I mean I can watch Conan the Barbarian right now. Whats not to love?

That's true, assuming you can get 3-bar performance out of the wii.
As for PLII, I think Netflix streaming is stereo-only even on the 360/PS3.
