A multiplayer demo for The Outfit has finally been released on Xbox Live.

Weighing in at almost 450 megs, the demo gives us all a few more ways to kill Nazis. Huzzah!

Although it is a multiplayer demo, silver members can still play in 1 on 1 split screen. Here is the quote form

With all the units, weapon effects, destructible objects, bright highres textures, view distance and especially split screen this game could not run on an Xbox. I think that this is the most purely fun game yet for the 360.

Not a bad game.
The credit system works well, although 300 feels a little cheap for an airstrike.
It looks good, but not great. There were zero framrate issues, and lag issues cleared up once the culprit was booted, which was usually done quite promptly.
I would have rather seen something along the lines of mercinaries rather than another WWII shooter, but waddya gonna do?

Yeah, this is a slick little demo. Don't think of the game as a third person shooter. Think of it as more of a hybrid with RTS elements. You don't have to do most of the killing. With good placement of resources, you can advance and let the soldiers do the shooting.

My point was that people who are afraid that it would favor twitch gameplay don't need to worry. Besides, you can still have fun without shooting when you have a destructable environment, ragdoll physics, and options like "air strike" and "artillery barrage".

What really threw me off about the game when I first saw it at E3 was that its art direction is not what we're used to for WW2 based games. It's not a drab game at all, but quite bright and colourful. My initial response at looking at it was extremely negative.

After seeing a one on one demo the next day behind closed doors, I put those perceptions aside and saw how much fun this game is going to be when you get a couple of buddies online and start blowing shit up.

That being said, I've not tried the demo yet, and any other play time I've had it is under NDA, so I'll have to post more later.

It seems there is an issue with PAL 50/60 settings and HD that is preventing some people from playing the demo outside the US. If anyone here has that problem someone posted this as a fix:

Heres the fix if your using a VGA cable.

1. Unplug VGA cable and plug in the component/composite that came with your 360.

2. Plug this in to a TV and make sure the switch is flipped to TV

3. Turn your 360 on.

4. Go to System blade, Display > PAL Settings and set it to PAL-60.

5. Save the settings, Turn your 360 off.

6. Plug your VGA cable back in and play the demo!

The issue seems to happen with component cables also and the above fix is said to work in that case as well. They better not yank it off the marketplace before I can download it!

After playing the demo for awhile, I agree that everything about it doesn't say 'next-gen' in any way. Aside from that, it was fun to play. I agree with Vjornaxx on the multiple play styles, even though i'm in the run'n'gun school of fighting, proper placement of weapons and teamwork is crucial.

I had some lag issues in a few games, and for some reason NOBODY wanted to talk.

Woah.. I just Downloaded the Demo and ended up very dissapointed when this PAL 50/60 settings issue occured! Thanks for posting a potential fix :) I will try it to see if this will work..

Ok, this game is damn fun. And damn hillarious. Had a great time playing with Ludoc and Randomviolence. There's quite a bit of stuff there that's not immediately noticable.

I like the fact you can recruit guys individually for your squad.
I like the fact that everything blows up.
I like the fact it's over the top.
I like the fact the Nazi chick says killing makes her "hot"
I like the fact you can use a Wheel Barrow as a vehicle.

I think I'm probably one of the few people who's happy to hear that this plays like Battlefront. I actually enjoyed that title quite a bit. I will hopefully be able to give this a go when I'm home tonight.

Like bap said, this game is fun and hilarious. Blowing shit up is fun! Airstrikes feel like f'ing airstrikes, and the vehicles are fun in a bouncy WW2-imitation kinda way.

Oh, did I mention free demos with online multiplayer are AWESOME? This kinda reminds me of the RTCW demo, at least in fun factor. I played the crap out of that one.

I had a blast with my first couple games of the demo. Sure I'm the ultimate Relic fanboy, but I don't get this whole "Doesn't look like a next gen game" thing that's going around. It's cartoon violence! It could be the same impression I had previously about the art direction...

I downloaded and played some split screen with my son. I have to say we enjoyed it. Kind of like a 3rd person shooter mixed with some RTS type elements a little different but has a lot of potential. Have to play some more. I like the strategy involved with putting down gun emplacements and ordering armored cars and what not. Did not figure the squad order part of it yet.

If I'm not mistaken, and Watership can correct me if I'm wrong, that was a joke, not a serious comparison. You know, the way "Clay Aiken is less gay than that guy" means that that guy must be really gay because Clay Aiken is really gay, and that guy is even gayer. Full Auto is a really unrealistic game, and to say that it has more realism than this game means that this game is really unrealistic. Hope that helps.

I got it to work..
I connected it up to my TV using the 'TV switch' option on the component/Composite cable, set it to PAL-60, then reconnected it to my PC Monitor using my VGA cable and set the resolution to 1280 x 720

Hopefully this issue will be fixed going forward..

Same method if you are using component. Switch to TV mode, go make the PAL mode change then go back to your hi def goodness.

Glad I did, the game is great. And no, it doesn't play like Conker's multiplayer.

It works. I play the demo in 720p without messing with my settings, it works.
