Gamesindustry (http://www.gamesindustry.biz/) has posted word that the show floor space at E3 2006 has been sold out. (http://www.gamesindustry.biz/content_page.php?aid=15111)

The show floor at this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo is set to be packed out once again as the Entertainment Software Association announces that all available space has now been sold.

More than 400 exhibitors will occupy 540,000 square feet of space at this year's E3 - an area equivalent to 4650 Olympic swimming pools.
Fully packed but now with less booth babes! :)

Fully packed but now with less booth babes! :)

And this is bad why???

I guess this is just the jaded, married man in me coming out, but I've generally been persuaded that at a given exhibitor, then number of booth babes is inversely proportional to the final, released product that's being shilled by said babes.

Show me a running, playable KillZone 2 in Sony's display that looks anywhere near as good as the CG crap they tried to pull last E3, and I'll be ecstatic.

(Not that I'm going.... what with being a married man and all. Can't get away with Jack. =)

I think it's great that there will be fewer (no?) booth babes at E3's from now on.
Not that I've ever been to one, or am likely to ever go... but E3 was getting to be a bit too much about T&A and less about the games/devs.
I can see pictures of "babes" any time on the net... usually without even trying. There's no need for so many of them at E3.

And this is bad why???

Who is saying it's a bad thing? Clearly the smiley indicates the approval!
And if the fact you're married is all that's stopping you from going to E3 then surely now is the best time to go.

One actual problem with the reduction of booth babes is that small time actress and models now lost a fairly good job. Its a one shot deal, but it happens every year and it is money in the bank.

welcome to E3, the countries biggest sausage fest of straight guys who make decent incomes.

I always have thought Booth Babes were stupid as a concept. Just such a cynical idea, that if real items do not draw people in, then tits will.

Agreed that it's only good for the games and gamers that the booth babe thing is over and done with. I feel bad for the models not having that job of course, but hopefully E3 will be more about the games now as it should always have been.

That booth babe thing turned out to be not true. Didn't you guys hear? The rules in place for booth babes this year are the same rules they have every year. The E3 group issued an announcement that babes are not cancelled. They are still permitted. It was just an announcement to make the place seem wholesome. There will be as more booth babes this year than ever.

It is kind of like the police saying "We will give all speeders tickets!" But everybody still speeds right past cops all the time. Meaningless.

its funny how just two years ago there was a huge backlash about e3, it's relevance, and whether or not it was going to last anohter year. Enter the next gen and all the sudden it's gonzo business again...

There will still be plenty of boothbabes, count on it. They might be called spokesmodels, though.

I suppose there'll still be plenty of pasty fat guys posing with them to get their picture taken. Lol, that is so sad.

"Hey guys, check out this picture of me with these two hot babes."
"You know that they had to be paid to do that?"
"Shutup!"

I like how we have so many people worrying about the impact on the booth babe industry from E3 not having them for one year. You'd think they were African children on a Sally Struthers infomercial after the outpouring on this thread.

Have you guys never been to a car show, boat show, etc? Pretty much anything in a convention center (except maybe a Tony Robbins or Purpose Driven Live conference) has attractive women shilling for whatever company hired them to work at the booth. Most of the time it's the same women that make a full time job out of working for convention exhibitors. When E3 is over in a week, they'll be back there the next day for whatever new show is in town.

Yea, E3 has definately lost it's way. It used to be about things, things that mattered to me, jiggly things... I just don't know what it stands for anymore.

Hopefully Everlost and myself will be there!

I doubt they'll let the two of you in, seeing as they banned booth babes.

I think God Games had the right idea a couple years ago. They brought out a bunch of trailers where they could demo their games in a lot outside the convention center. Then they had the area fenced off, 21 and over with live music and free beer. Now that's good marketing!

Why not put the booth babes in their own booth, in the back? When you're tired of looking at games and hardware, go to the back, relax. Let the booth babes dance for you, and take pictures with you and boobies boobies boobies. Just make it 18 or older.

It's more wholesome that way and keeps your mind focused on technology, THEN boobies. :D

I could care less about booth babes....complete waste of space, time and money. The focus of e3 is......games. We don't need these big titted distractions! Have them at all the pre/post parties of course ;)

Is it just me, or do 90% of the booth babes at these conventions look like 30+ year old model rejects with sub-par boob jobs?

One actual problem with the reduction of booth babes is that small time actress and models now lost a fairly good job. Its a one shot deal, but it happens every year and it is money in the bank.

That is a lame, lame reason to defend them. And it holds no water, so to speak.

The proper response should be:

"Yes, those stupid bimbos who do that stuff could make MUCH BETTER MONEY working as models for JC Penny's or some other prominant advertiser."

I am all for getting rid of the skimpy models and replacing them with content. BUT, the main problem with the skimpy models is not that they distract (I like girls as much as the next guy-- trust me). The problem lies in the fact that they attract tons of idiots who just walk around with hard-ons and detract severely from the purpose of E3: GAMING & Entertainment! It's not a show about girls and who can afford the hottest models. It's a show about games and what makes my heart race when my girlfriend ISN'T around. ;) Okay, corny... and nerdy... but I couldn't resist.

Fine, stay home and look at pron on the internet. Infact, may I suggest the following materials about the purpose of the internet: Click (http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-4446981554735098778).

Enjoy.
