GamingShogun (http://www.gamingshogun.com/Article/6003/Nier_Confirmed_for_Spring_of_2010_Release.html) reports that Square Enix has announced that the Cavia-developed action-RPG, Nier, will be released this Spring. The game was previously called Nier Gestalt but as since had its name shortened for the North American release. The game is centered around a father finding a cure for his child's deadly disease. A PlayStation 3 version is also in the works, but will feature a different storyline set in the same game universe and will be called Nier Replicant.

Square Enix, Inc., the publisher of Square Enix interactive entertainment products in North America confirmed today that their upcoming Action-RPG NIER for PlayStation 3 system and Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, is slated for a Spring 2010 release.

The latest offering from the RPG masters at Square Enix, NIER blends an intense, action-packed single-player experience with a complex plotline that will keep players guessing. Jump in to the title role of the unyielding Nier, and unravel the tale of a desperate man’s quest to discover a cure for his ailing daughter.

just looked up a trailer for this. kinda cool looking, looks like it falls in the same god of war/devil may cry/bayonetta category but im not complaining. The music was pretty epic too. May have to keep my eye on it, hopefully its no Dirge..

This is the first I'd heard of the game, but I'll be sure to keep an eye on it.

Gestalt: a name for a style of therapy (got to love having a wife with a masters in psychology I learn goofy stuff!) it's also the name of my wifes old EQ2 guild back when she played.. SO for which reason do you hate the word for :D

Back on topic if I recall correctly the americanized version of this game will have the same story on PS3 and Xbox360, unlike the japanese version of the game.

Wellll, because of this english teacher I had in high school. It was his favorite term, he used it at least 5 times a day. He was also a reprehensible human being who believed social conventions were silly. So, he'd pick his nose in class and fling the booger all over. That's right.

He also tried to talk a dude I know into taking naked photos at his house >_>

Just, bad associations all the way around :P

Oh, and he made us read "Bless Me Ultima" and then gave us a vocabulary test IN SPANISH. I failed the test on principle. Giving a spanish vocabulary test in an english class. REALLY?

It's been a rough day at work (which makes me blunt) so I need to ask anyone get this halfwit fired and AWAY from other students?

Oh, he's actually dead now :P trust me, we would've--it was my best friend he tried it on, who also happened to be captain of the football team at the time.
