A note for all you criminals out there on the run...don't play WOW. A snippet from the article:
U.S. authorities subpoenaed video game company Blizzard Entertainment — the company that develops and publishes World of Warcraft, an online game featuring witches and warlocks — for Hightower's IP address after they received information that he had fled the United States and was most likely hiding in Canada.

70% of Detroit murders are unsolved. It's a sanctuary city for killers!

And that's why he should've paid with game time cards and used a fake name, damn noob. :p
Also I like the writing better here,

the writer doesn't come off as such a clueless idiot and it even has a link to the guy's toon on WoW Armory, lol.

This sort of thing is only going to happen more and more. Tomorrow's super detective is likely to be more like an IT dropout than a former bail-bondsman :P And with the threat of terrorism, global manhunts, connection, and info sharing... yar.

this is grade A bullshit, I expected so much more from blizzard. They must not have considered all the people that use drugs playing their games.

Watch the judge give him five years house arrest but then bar him from playing WoW. He'll beg for two years in prison instead.

Detroit sucked long before any progressives came into power. It was run into the ground by misguided automotive companies (mostly helmed by rich conservatives) who pulled away jobs. Oh, and their prison system is overcrowded.
The only thing that will fix that place is OCP and their army of ED-209's

Wrong. Detroit was one of the wealthiest cities, with the most highly paid workforce in America. After five decades of progressive leadership, it's an apocalyptic shit-basket. Thank you, unions (for bankrupting the automobile manufacturers with your seven weeks of paid vacation a year and incredibly lucrative benefit/pay packages) and Democrats (who worked to raid the companies and the taxpayers, and then to enfeeble them at the teet of government handouts).

And once again a thread becomes pointlessly political for no reason. Good times.

There's an argument to be made that the unions sunk the American car companies. It's undeniable for anyone who knows about the ridiculous constraints the unions imposed on car companies. So really, Detroit brought it on itself.

The irony. The meth-dealer only got caught because of his addiction to WoW.

I'm pretty sure Ulysses was referring to this:
"I knew the guy's name but I had no idea what he looked like. So I plugged his name into Facebook and there he was — along with incriminating messages on his wall and a picture of him in a motel with a stack of money and some marijuana," Roberson told AFP.
Very stupid, indeed.
