Brothers in Arms 3 Scans

French Xbox 360 news site (Xbox-360.fr (http://www.xbox-360.fr/)) has posted some very small scans from this month's Official Xbox Magazine, that show Brothers in Arms 3 on the Xbox 360. So far we've seen shots from next-gen versions of Splinter Cell, Brothers in Arms and Ghost Recon. Where's my next-gen Full Spectrum Warrior ? I loved that game.

Not sure what to make of this, less than 6 months till Spring 2006, and we have still yet to see one playable game. We have tons of movies, and a few in engine tech demos, and that's about it. Perhaps ID and others really meant it when they said the PS3 wasn't developer friendly.

I could go on, and I really want to, but I'll just wait for the gaming press to report on it first. Remember when Kutaragi proclaimed there woulc be playable games at TGS? =\

I BROKE the news that the PS3 was having problems well before anyone else. An EA exclusive at the time. Until I leaked an interview with Fishie to Kokatu, that was all the gaming community really knew about the truth about the PS3. What will be the case is that a lot of games that would have been sim-shipped are going to be pushed back for the PS3 as it gets delayed and released on time for the 360.

Sony was telling its partners spring just like it was telling us spring. If they miss spring they'll just ship the 360 version, it won't mean the PS3 version was canceled.

BIA had the potential to be one of my favorite games ever. It was just right up my alley. My only knocks on it were the shitty graphics and terrible framerate that destroyed gameplay during the most exciting parts. These screens are thrilling, to say the least. If they can make it look *that* good and come in at a solid 30, it may be my GOTY.

In BIA 2 I would really like to see better progression to the enemies. In both the first one and EIB you fight a couple guys outside, in every single encounter. You never fight anything as large as a platoon unless it’s a hold-your-position mission, and when you fight something that size, there’s no coordination to it.

They used enemy accuracy and damage to ramp difficulty as the game progressed, for the next game I’d like to see their AI ramped up instead so they behave more intelligently as the game progresses. It's more fun to really duke it out with a smart enemy, than one that will kill you in one shot. And maybe have some other moves that they could do to free themselves from your suppressing fire. Like if you pin a group of elite soldiers they'll pop smoke and evacuate the position. That would help make the game feel less repetitious, and more mentally engaging.

That being said, the game has little to worry about in the graphics department judging from these screenshots. I like the dusk colored lighting in the first one. And I wonder if the second one is showing off sub-surface scattering, I can’t read the writing there.
