In case you were wondering when the next bit of DLC will hit Dragon Age, wonder no longer! Announced late last month (http://www.evilavatar.com/forums/showthread.php?t=100321), the DLC titled Return to Ostagar will be released on January 5th for Xbox 360 and PC, and soon after on the 7th for the PS3 during their normal weekly updates. It'll run you 400 Microsoft bells, or $5.

GIMME MOAR!

Tempting. I have enough Microsoft points on my Live account, but Bayonetta comes out on the 5th as well.

GIMME MOAR!

It’s nice to see that I’m not the only one who has the taste for more Darkspawn blood. :D

Almost done with my second play through but that is gonna sit on the backburner until I finish my second carry-over campaign of ME to ME2. Dam you Bioware RPGs, you are like crack!

Yeah, I'm still waiting (for the price to drop) on this game. I can wait.

Yeah, with all the DLC fever, I figure it's just best to wait for the game of the year edition anymore.

I played dragon age once and am willing to play it again, but I dont think I will want to play it over and over for the DLC merry go round. I will wait till all the DLC comes out and then buy the DLC expansion disk (or whatever its called) for a reasonable price and so I can get the most enjoyment out of it. DA is the anomaly(I actually bought it at release) for me, I stopped buying games on release since the DLC fever has caught on to developers, it just annoys me that a game isn't complete anymore, regardless if you call it stuff taken out to be sold later, or an add on, its stuff you have to play the game again to enjoy, and I really do not want to play a game again and again for each new DLC. I guess that is the problem developers will have to face with DLC, the longer they wait to release DLC, the less interested people will be, and each DLC will have diminishing returns. Also, more people like me will stop buying the game on release date and instead wait for the GOTY edition if the DLC trend continues.

I'm not buying DLC for a game with such a definite ending. I mean I loved DAO but I'm not going back through 70 hours of content for 15 more minutes of game play. Both bethesda and bioware are awful at this. DLC is best for episodic content, i.e. more stuff after the end of the narrative, not more stuff in the middle chapters after I've already finished the whole thing. I do not want horse armor.

See I almost take the opposite approach. I want them to wait longer to release DLC. Gives me a reason to go back for a 2nd or 3rd playthrough, LONG after I beat the initial game.

When they release DLC shortly after launch, that's when I cry foul that that content should have been on the disc in the first place. Especially for a game like DA. They were already releasing DLC before I beat the game. Granted, it took me 63hrs for my first playthrough, but all the more reason to wait. I wasn't going to stop my current game to start over just to play a small DLC pack. And after beating such a long game, I am in no hurry to do it again.

Call me in 6 months when I get the itch to fire it up again. In the middle of summer when game-releases are sparse. That would be perfect.

I just finished one playthrough. Where's the loot?

The trailer of this DLC (http://ve3d.ign.com/videos/60016/PC/Dragon-Age-Origins-Return-to-Ostagar/Trailer/Return-To-Ostagar) makes it look like it's completely recycled environments and based on the previous DLC, the Warden's Keep, the gameplay might not last more than an hour. Hopefully I'm wrong in both cases but just in case, definitely not a day 1 buy for me even though Dragon Age was my GOTY.

From what the devs have said, this will be approximately the same length as Warden's Keep... So about an hour long.

^ That makes it a "wait for the GOTY edition" thing for me.

Related is that the title update is slated to appear along with RtO, which will fix the DLC achievement glitch (among other fixes).

I'll buy it. $5 for what will be at least two hours of gameplay (in the middle of my second playthrough now and will be playing a third time) is well worth it to me. Its still far cheaper then going to see a movie.

Wardens Keep was pretty awesome, so if it's about that length and quality, I'm in.

I'm 70 hours in, and I've only just got to the landsmeet.

I've only seen 66% of the locations too (oh probably higher now, maybe 75%?).

I'm a sucker for the DLC. I hate it, though, when I see the GOTY coming out with all that goodness on one disc.

On the other hand... if I ponied up and bought one of the 250 GB hard drives I've seen on eBay for $75, I could rip all my discs to the console and not have to worry about load times (or the DLC taking up space).

70 hours?!

I'm guessing you must have done all the side quests?

I just finished Monday just past the 38 hour mark and I'm regretting not doing more side quests...so I started an new game.

My first play through was about 65 hours or so. I'm now about 1/4 of the way into my 3rd play through, but am waiting for RtO before playing any further.

I've done about 75% of the side quests, but I do explore every nook and cranny and in a couple of spots, the Brecian Forest and the werewolf quest, I had to leave and level up before I came back.
