The first episode is a very well made full-on run and gun level. There's as much story to speak of as Wolfenstein 3D in the olden days (you're already there, might as well go forward). It's a very cool throwback.
And pretty hard I remember.

Im downloading it now, but the sence of humor, and stunning level design of the first part easily sold me on this.

WTF is it? A mod for HL2?

I'm kind of confused, is this a single player hl2 mod? Where can I download part 1? It says that the "transmission is now obselete" for part 1.

Seriously, is it even possible to be more obtuse than this? I have no idea what it is or what it does ... I won't download it.

WTF is so hard to understand? It's an episodic release of single-player levels for Half-life 2.

I think the download on the second page contains both maps one and two...at least I think he says something(or excactly) like "It's seamlessly linked up to the first map (a slightly updated version of which will be included), so you'll be able to play MINERVA right the way through... ;-)"

Oh hell man, I am psyched about this. The first episode was extremely well done IMO. The dev team managed to capture the same feel of HL2 in it, while keeping it fast-paced. And the sense of humor in it was excellent.
Oh, and I hated it too. All the enemies that freaked me out in HL2: those rollermines, manhacks, and poison headcrabs. I hope to never see another poison headcrab in my life.

What do you mean, "doing the same thing" you were doing? It was pretty obvious from the moment I read the original post that MINERVA is an episodic based set of single-player levels for Half-life 2.

Is the first Minerva episode included in the episode two download?

I think so, I'm not positive because I already had the first episode. The site says you can play through from start to finish, so I assume that both are included.
[edit] yes, it definitely includes both. I guess that's why they took down the first download.

Sorry for the double post, but OH DEAR GOD MORE POISON HEADCRABS OH SHIIIIIIIT!
This is at least as good as the first one Minerva episode, if not better. Although, as soon as you find the shotgun, then it gets surprisingly easy.

Oh, btw, what part of:
"Transmission now obsolete: information contained within new transmission..."
Do people not understand?

OK, for those of you playing along at home:
MINERVA: Metastasis is an extremely polished and fun single player HL2 mod, delivered as episodic content (similar to HL2: Episode 1, the official Valve product). The second episode was just released and is available as a standard HTTP download (first link) or as a bittorrent stub (second link). The aforementioned download contains both episode one, Carcinogenesis and episode 2, Downhill Struggle.
Clear?

Sorry, I was briefly posessed by a one-legged, three eyed squirrel who can't type.
Episode I was better. Episode II went a little crazy with the "swarm you with enemy soliders" thing. Can't wait to see episode 3, though.

You were able to guess. He probably guessed the same, but wanted confirmation. If he hadn't beat me to it, I would have raised the same question myself. I would have worded it otherwise, though.
