Want to know what kind of game is Dark Messiah? Get your answer from RPGDot's recent interview with Arkane Studios ( http://www.rpgdot.com/index.php?hsaction=10053&ID=1212).
RPGDot: What else is there in DM? First question: can you briefly describe the story, is it based on other M&M games?
Raphael: In Dark Messiah, you are Sareth, apprentice to a powerful wizard. He has raised you for a single purpose, training you in the arts of magic and war. At the beginning of the game you are given an ancient artifact and ordered to carry it to a friend of your master. It seems like a simple task … But of course, yours will be a sinuous journey, filled with unexpected encounters and revelations, and upon your quest, looms the shadow of the Dark Messiah...
Arkane is the French developer behind Arx Fatalis, the spiritual remake of Ultima Underworld. In the past they've expressed their high regard for Looking Glass's work on Thief and System Shock, and have since picked up a few ex-LG throwaways. Expect elements of stealth as well as heavy doses of action in Dark Messiah.
I spoke with Raphael last year, he is a friendly bloke (Europeans are just downright nice). Dark Messiah is gonna be big this summer. Cheers, to a job well done!
