The fourth episode of the Evil Avatar News Radio podcast will be recorded tomorrow, March 3rd from 9:00 PM to midnight central. You will be able to listen in live at www.kumm.org. This is going to be a BIG episode, with an extra-long news run-down to make up for the week off, tons of call-ins, the big reveal for our theme song (and the contest winner), a "World's Worst Videogame" contest, and a new weekly segment from a very special guest!
Can't tune in live but still want to participate? Send in e-mails to evilavatarnews@gmail.com. These can be discussing stuff we've talked about in previous episodes, news stories from the past week that you want to comment on or make sure we talk about, or just rants about subjects in the videogame world. We'll gladly accept both text and MP3 comments, and if you send it in by 6:00 PM tomorrow, it will definitely be played or read on the air.
Haven't checked out the Evil Avatar News Radio podcast yet? Visit our archives (http://bootyandthehofish.jeffool.com/) and download or subscribe to the podcast now!
EDIT: Here's how the "World's Worst Videogame" contest will work for those who want to take part but can't tune in live. At the Improv show last week, they did a bit called "World's Worst". In this, they take a subject and name or do impressions of the "World's Worst" of whatever that subject is. Videogames came up and examples of "World's Worst Videogames" included:
-Dick Cheney Hunting Challenge
-Drink Drink Revolution
-Shoot 'Em Up My Little Pony
-Grand Theft Auto: Amish Town
Call in and give your idea tomorrow or send in your submission to evilavatarnews@gmail.com!

Meh, no worries. :p I've posted it a couple of times already and not had any spam trouble

Judging by their claim as "the gaming podcast for people who hates podcasts", it's probably not where we're going. :p I'm downloading/listening to an episode now, though, so we'll see. Anything specific you think we should be doing differently exactly?

Huzzah! Hope you can keep tuning in and maybe participate some. :)

"The gaming podcast for people who hates podcasts" refers to the fact that the majority is crap, and I agree.
After you've listened to it, I'll give you a suggestion or two if you still need it. :)

I haven't listened to any of the recent episodes (you said you'd call me! YOU USED ME YOU HEARTLESS BASTARD!) but I'd guess your problem is that you don't sound enough like a sex chat line.

I don't. There are a lot of bad ones out there, but there are a lot of good fun ones too. If you're defining crap as 'unprofessional', these guys seems to be about the pinnacle of that judging by their first 10-15 minutes.
After you've listened to it, I'll give you a suggestion or two if you still need it.
I've listened to about half of it. To be honest, I don't see the appeal. They spent at least five minutes at the start laughing about nothing and talking about how much they hate their jobs. Finally getting into the videogame talk, they're a bit more interesting, but still. That first bit made me want to turn it off right away.
The couple things I think you may be referring to: having a topic each week. This is something I'm considering once we're more into the swing of things and have each show rolling out smoothly and a strong, consistent listener base for call-ins/e-mails. The "World's Worst Videogame" contest is in a way a kind of test of how that would work.
Having specific segments for reviews, previews, etc: This is likely something we'll get to as well, though again that's going to require more input and participation from the Evil Avatar community. The new weekly segment we're debuting this week is a sort of showing of how that may be.

Hmm... maybe I'll listen in. For the first time.
Maybe.
EDIT: Ah, I forgot about the giant time zone difference. Guess I won't be listening, hehe.

Haha, you're the one to talk with last week's cohosts :D
Listen to the rest of it. These guys know what they're talking about. Even if you want to judge, they've been doing it for 20 something episodes, they must've been doing something right. IMO these days EAvatar could really use some more focused editorialization.

I've listened to the rest. It's not bad. But the fact that they've done it for 20-some episodes doesn't mean anything. I know plenty of shitty podcasts that have been around for hundreds of episodes. Anyways, the main focus of our podcast right now is reviewing the news stories of the past week and getting that down. After we do have that down I expect we'll expand some, and this new segment I mentioned is an early sign of that, so if that's what you want look forward to it. :)

We can probably make it then if that's an official request.
