IGN (http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/692/692761p1.html) has some hands on time with the Co-Op mode for Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter on the XBox 360. The coolest piece of information about it is word that there is 16 player coop available via XBox Live.

The co-op mode is supported by both System Link and Xbox Live. As many as two to four players can join in split screen offline and online, said Ubisoft, which means pretty much everybody is likely to be happy. One of the interesting things about the cooperative mode is how much work Ubisoft did to make the mode exclusive and unique. When you jump on SysLink or Xbox Live, you'll find four co-op modes, Campaign, Co-op Elimination, Co-op Territory, and Co-op Objective. All of the co-op modes join human players onto one team to fight AI enemies. No co-op modes permit adversarial play, but don't worry. You can snipe your buddy's face into bloody chunks in the adversarial modes (see our hands-on multiplayer preview for that).
Oh hell yeah.

wow, a dev that actually focused on co-op as if gamers care.

I guess someone heard our screams over the past 10 years.

So no "local" multiplayer on just one 360? Only over system link and Live? That's kind of a bummer.

Everything else about the game sounds fantastic.

That's awesome. I haven't cared about Ghost Recon in ages but that would be a big selling point for me when I get my hands on a 360.

There is a screenshot of the multiplayer review with a 4 player split in it. As in, 4 people playing on one box.

Damn it Burnout 360 AND GRAW both come out on the same day. I've played Burnout Revenge on the Xbox and it was awesome but the more I hear about GRAW, the more I want to play it. Decisions, decisions.

Could this be the first game on X360 where you can actually do a 4 person split screen on one Box AND all play on XBox Live?!

Sign me up, this game looks awesome.

Sweet. I didn't catch that.

Now if I could find a damn 360 ... looks like I'll be playing this at my brother's house.

Holy shitballs. 16 player co-op? OMG this is like the Ghost Recon PC glory days!

Now if only more games supported co-op. Heck, some RTS games supporting co-op again (ala Starcraft) and I could play with my wife!

Do you *HAVE* to use 4 players per box? Or can 16 independent players all join in over LIVE! ?

Can anyone confirm that the game supports more than 4 boxes over LIVE! ???

Doesn't Call of Duty 2 do that? I've only played 2 player split screen but it seemed like it could do 4 if you had enough controllers.

All this sounds very promising... But can I honestly expect intelligent gameplay from UBI after likes of lockdown and the menagarie of stale and buggy xbox GR launches?

AFAIK, and I've been playing it online since launch, you can only have 1 person on a box on Live.

Now this, this on the otherhand, will kick so much ass. For me, COD2 is the title to beat for best game on the 360, GRAW may have just done that. We'll see *can't wait for demo*.

One Kleenex just won't pick up all the gravy, so to speak. ;)

For the lazy among us :-)

Up to 16 players in a game, with up to 4 players on each box, any combination. Co-op, Team, Solo.

Uhmmm...Is this Soldier of Fortune 3? The Tom Clancy games are usually T-rated blodless affairs, right?

I'm guessing it's safe to say that an EvAv GRAW clan wouldn't be too hard to put together. I'll be ready to go on day one.

I am %99.9 sure that clancy games have blood. I remember even teh older games (rogue) were you get shot and you can see the blood in the snow. Or am I thinking of another games, it is early.

However, graw clan+evil avatar=im in.
