X360A (http://www.xbox360achievements.org/) has posted a In-Depth Red Dead Redemption Preview (http://www.xbox360achievements.org/news/news-4039-In-Depth-Red-Dead-Redemption-Preview--Ride--Em-Cowboy.html) detailing many aspects of this highly anticipated 3rd person western themed shooter from Rockstar San Diego.

To describe Red Dead Redemption as GTA with cowboys would just be plain lazy. Truth is it’s so much more. That much was made abundantly clear when we visited Rockstar’s London HQ to get an extended hands-off look at the game, which is reportedly much larger and evidently more ambitious than the uber-game maker’s ubiquitous crime saga.

This game is looking better and better.

I watched a preview of it on IGN, and I'm super into it. When I first heard about it, I didn't really care about it at all, but now its a title I'll probably pick up. As long as they handle the repetitiveness factor, it's all good.

After finishing Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood, I wondered why the hell aren't they doing more westerns. I'm actually trying to track down a cheapo version of Gun at the moment.

The preview linked has a lot of interesting (neat-sounding) stuff I didn't know about. I love that this is open-world and the fact that there's a good pedigree behind it, I'm definitely looking forward to it.

One of the best bargin bin purchases I ever made was Gun for the XBox. While not a perfect game, it was very fun and enjoyable. After I beat it, it made the rounds to most of my friends even those that didn't care for GTA style of gameplay or even westerns and even they were pleased with it. Most said they had never heard of it or always just passed it up.

I think this game has some great potential and looks stunning. I am really looking forward to this as well.

Loved Red Dead Revolver, despite my disappointment that it wasn't GTA with Cowboys. Enjoyed Gun quite a bit, which I took as validation that I wasn't crazy for wanting GTA with Cowboys.

I've got my fingers crossed that this delivers.

Rofl :) More like it ships with a six shooter, and every time you want to shoot you have to cock and pull, and it's a light gun so your aim has to be right, but it has a proximity sensor in the tip, so if you're closer than 10 feet it refuses to fire :P So, basically, Duck Hunt without the ability to cheat. Then we can get it sponsored by Clint Eastwood and have him whine about how anyone who doesn't like his six-shooter western game pre-decided not to like it!

Is that the prequel to this, to Red Dead Redemption? Interesting. I didn't realize this game had a pedigree.
