Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter for the PC delayed?

Eurogamer (http://www.eurogamer.net/) is reporting (http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=63069) that the PC version of Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter won't be released until the second quarter.

At least they aren't bumping back the console releases of the title.

Yea they just don't want the pc'rs period. Sucks but shooters just don't make it for me on consoles. Looked like a great game now I'm caring about it a whole lot less.

I don't do FPS on the consoles, so this one is a big title for me. I loved GR1 and the Xpacks for it. It looks like 2 two versions are completely different (360 vs PC) so I can wait as long as it isn't a port.

That sucks. They probably are going to take the console port and make it more tactical like they did with the last R6 (lockdown) crappy release instead of doing a pc version from the ground up. Or they will delay the pc version like they did with GR2. :)

I too can't play fps games on consoles. I tried a few times, but it's just not the same except for Metroid Prime which wasn't your typical fps game.

The PC version and the X360 version are (almost) completly differedn't. Different engine, different missions, different gameplay mechanics.

Is anyone really surprised by this? UbiSoft ditched their core fanbase years ago in favor of greener ($$) pastures on the consoles several years ago.

Not in the least. I have no interest in this game after such a drastic makeover from the first game. It's just sad to lose such a great game. :(

Well, delayed is not cancelled, although they did pull that before with GR2. The development studio working on GRAW for the PC seems to know their stuff. Like most game, I don't mind if it slips a bit to ensure quality, especially when it has been so long. GR1 is one of my all time favorites and close to one of a kind. If they do it right I can wait a quarter.

There are approximately 20 to 30 PC screenshots available, and one bootleg shakey cam video of the game being demonstrated somewhere. That's IT.

Ubisoft basically took everything that made Tom Clancy shooters great, stripped it off, and made the series into a console franchise.

I play my consoles much more than my PC, but a tactical FPS has no place on a console. It just cannot be done.

I must say this is bullshit. I've been waiting to play Ghost Recon on my PC patiently since the first one and it's expansions. This better only be a small delay.

Again it's too bad Ubi doesn't give a shit about their PC audience anymore. You know, the ones who made the Rainbow Six games and Ghost Recon such a success in the first place. Better to pump out yearly sequels on the consoles instead that pale in comparison to the originals.

GR2 was a console port. GR3 for the PC is a completely different game than the 360 game. GR2 was terrible even for the Xbox, so no wonder they cancelled GR2. I think GR3 will get released. PC always takes longer because of QA.
