View Full Version : Gish on X360 Live Arcade Petition
A petition (http://www.petitiononline.com/gishlive/petition.html) has been created to persuade ChronicLogic (http://www.chroniclogic.com/), the company behind Gish (http://www.chroniclogic.com/gish.htm) to release the game on Xbox Live Arcade.
Gish is the perfect game for Xbox with it's joypad-friendly control scheme and intense multiplayer matches that rival Super Smash Bros in terms of pure fun.
Definitely one of my favorite games of the last decade. Great idea.

Um, don't developers have to be invited by Microsoft?
Did I miss something?
/edit: It won't let me sign anyway? Says I'm blocked? Damn petition online.

Gish is very cool, It would make a great XBLA game, like most GarageGames.com games :)

Gish was fun, but I don't recall it being classic worthy. I can't really remember it though, maybe I'll have to redownload it sometime this week.
Nice idea though. Curiously funny that you don't even take credit for starting the petition, if76. ;)

Developers do NOT need to be "invited", but they DO need Microsofts approval. Not that I imagine this would be hard to get with a popular game that already runs...

I'm probably in the minority here, but I never really thought much of Gish as a game. As an idea, it was neat, but when I actually got down to playing the demo, something didn't feel right. I guess the whole idea is that big sticky blobs move somewhat sluggishly and are tricky to manuever, which is fine, but then to put it in a platformer-esque role seemed, well, just kinda wrong to me. Maybe I need to lay off the mountain dew.

Maybe. I seemed to be coordinated with the keyboard quite well, and had a lot of fun with Gish. I don't want to sound like a fanboy, but the game is definitely one of those rare originals that comes along, like Katamari Damacy. Besides, with a joypad, Gish is/would be (I tried it with my USB "S" controller for a little bit) very, VERY fun.
And what's wrong with any game being on the XBL Arcade? If you don't like it, don't download it. Something is better then nothing (not attacking anybody, just some pre-emptive suggestions :D )

Yeah, by the time it's done it'll likely have close to 50 signatures!
Not saying the game is bad. I HAVE played it but it was a while ago and all I remember is not playing it for very long...
just saying... is there really THAT much demand for the game to warrent making a petition? (not that these online petitions ever work)
And if you already love it so much... that means you've played it. And you're reading this on a PC right now... which means you can still play it... and so can all the people who sign the petition... so what's the point, exactly?
I'm not saying it shouldn't be on XBLA, but if it coems it comes, if it doesn't... everyone can still play it... heck, they could just hook their 360 controllers to their PC's and play if they really wanted to.

petitiononline is still around? its just a site to put all the petitions in one place so that everyone who is being petitioned only has to avoid visiting one site.
i like the smashing pumpkins gish.

Petitions for shit like this is retarded. Send the devs a feedback, thats fine, but we are in no position to tell them what to do.
It's hard work making a console game, and Gish is technicaly a lot more tricky than it looks to make. Plus their engine may not easily be ported to a console platform.
The XBL arcade is very competitive, and for all you know, it may be in development as we speak.
Just wait and see I say.
I hate petitions, and I have a special little bit of hate for online petitions... having said that Gish is fun, and would be easily do-able on Xbox live arcade.

Good idea, but perhaps more important is a remake of Liero with sweet graphics and online play.
Internet petitions should be illegal. I'm not sure why I feel this way.
Gish is an awesome new concept to the platformer genre. And they gotta make it popular.

If you haven't played Gish multiplayer then you haven't played Gish. Yes I have played it on PC and I've even hooked up a couple joypads and played the amazing two-player mode. What I'd like to do is be able to gather round the TV and play with four buddies on X360. Once it's on Live Arcade, it could easily have the type of following to make online multiplayer viable which would certainly rock.

Obviously we're not telling them what to do. We're letting them know there's substantial interest in their product. This might get the gears turning.

1- Nobody called it a classic.
2- It's a PC game.
3- You smell funny.
4- There is no 4.

I don't have a joypad on my PC, and downloaded the demo for this game a while back, but never got into it because the keyobard/mouse controls seemed awkward.
