Odd, I would have expected New Moon to have a really fat tail due to repeat viewings from devoted fans (ala Titanic). Looks like the drop-off was fairly precipitous.

Translation: People are sick of New Moon, and no other movies were willing to release in the wake of its juggernaut sales (except those who had no choice and were willing to gamble.) Blind Side was one of those movies and has now reaped the benefit of New Moon's hype prematurely fading. And likely Blind Side isn't half bad either. But too often the success of a movie can be determined by little more than its release date gamble, even if it's a great movie but isn't expected to be a blockbuster. Hell I know a guy who had his script optioned and turned into a movie years ago, and they're still holding the movie for release four years later. Which he said means it's likely a complete turd :P This is the writer saying this :P But, as you may know, when you option your script you lose all creative control.

Ninja Assassin was a ton of fun. If you don't box office it, for sure pick it up on rental.

The only one on that list that I was thinking of seeing was Christmas Carol but then several people told me it sucked. Maybe I'll go see Ninja Assassin. Thanks.

Depends - if you like football/feel good movies it's worth seeing. If you aren't the emotional/sentimental type you probably won't enjoy it - but if you have a significant other who does enjoy such movies you may reap benefits if you go see it with them. It's a good example of that particular genre - a good movie for what it is.

Why is Sandra Bullock still alive? How did her dumb football movie break 100mil in Nov?
New Moon made 255mil. That's not "hype". That's solid cash.

If you wanna have a damned good laugh, watch the Rifftrax version of Twilight, from the makers of MST3K :)
