What happened to Running Scared? Was it only released on a handful of screens or something?

Anyone else see anything scary that two movies with cross dressing male comedians made it into the top 12? :D

Big Momma's house isn't #1? Wow America isn't as stupid as I thought.

Look closely at the list, you might revise your opinion when comparing the competition.

What's scary about that gunny? Except that they might not be so terribly good.

12 movies x 10,000,000 DVDs (printed later this year) x $5.99 Walmart (bargain bin in 2007) = still too much fucking money going to the studios for total shit.

Something must be done about Tyler Perry and Martin Lawrence before they team up. If that happens, all hope is lost. . .

RottenTomatoes says it was released in 1611 theaters. Compare that to 2194 for Medea's Family Reunion, and you've got yourself a flop.
I can't remember the exact quote from the preview, but it was hilarious, something like "This is the most hardcore extreme kick ass movie of the year."

I hate everyone that went to those top two movies. Sure it was - 10 in the northeast, but I found a way NOT to go to these crapfests.

What's with all the hate for Tyler Perry? The man has a huge role in creating his films and has a nice core following. What's with the vitrole? Big Momma I can understand, but I really don't think that Perry belongs in the same category as Martin Lawrence's crapfest.

You have no soul if you can't appreciate sled dogs.
Running Scared was very good. The flop is still no surprise though.

That is an incredibly depressing list :( Running Scared is about the most appealing of the bunch to me, followed maybe by FD3, although im not sure FD2 was good enough to deserve a sequel.

It's sad when I've never even heard of the top movie, and the only reason I knew about Doogal was because Jon Stewart happened to mention it in an interview last week. I saw no advertising for most of those movies (at least the new releases).
Sigh. No wonder I didn't bother going to a movie last week.

I have no idea what the perry movie is about, but I have seen a TON of billboards for it...I finally saw Brokeback Mountain...now that was an excellent film. I wish that Ang Lee would pull a Super Smash Brothers Melee style game and have a massive battle with the characters and sets of his various movies. Imagine the incredible Hulk battle it out with Zhang Ziy on the hills of Brokeback Mountain. Or emma thompson kicking christina ricci's ass up and down the hills of San Francisco.

"A game is only late until it ships, but it sucks forever."
- Origin Systems motto
I wish that quote could be used like kryptonite against EA.

Now I haven't seen it yet, but according to the rating (http://imdb.com/title/tt0455612/) at IMDB, Madea's Family Reunion is the 10th or so worst movie ever with a 2.0. Big Momma's House 2 has a 2.9 and the 65th worst movie ever. Apparently the public can't get enough grown men dressing as women.
Mrs Doubtfire 2 anyone?

The sad thing is that EA bought Origin. Too bad they couldn't infect it from the inside.
Sigh.

Uhm... I don't like stereotypical black comedies, even if they're written by a black man. It's like watching a black comedian's stand-up routine that's been made into a movie.

Kind of like how Denis Leary's role in Demolition Man was just his singularly trite and old rant about freedom. Except the lazy ass used his stand-up word for word.
