Microsoft sends along word that the third preview of the upcoming Halo Legends anime DVD will air on Halo Waypoint on Saturday.

The “Halo” universe’s most iconic figure embarks on a harrowing mission in the third preview episode of the epic anime saga, “Halo Legends.” Created by Casio Entertainment and visionary director Shinji Aramaki, part one of “The Package” will be available exclusively on Halo Waypoint for only 24 hours this Saturday, Dec. 5.

The story follows Master Chief and four specially selected Spartans as they launch out on a stealth cruiser into the heart of a massive Covenant fleet in a bid to recover a valuable intelligence asset.

This episode will prove that Spartans are just as adept fighting in zero-G and piloting never-before-seen light attack vehicles as they are on the ground. Once Master Chief locates the target he and the remaining Spartans blast their way on board, where the action gets hand-to-hand as they fight through an army of Covenant troops in order to recover the most important Human intelligence resource there is.

I don't remember Halo having anything to do with Anime... or teenagers in chief suits. This is the kind of crap that makes me want to kick a puppy.

I'm surprised I missed the second one!

I must have been doing something really important...oh right...working.

"This just in, successful or influential works in one medium are often adopted in another."

I'm not an anime fan, but Batman: Gotham Knight was enjoyable. Not 100% analogous, but the closest we've got.

Back to your regularly scheduled seething Internet rage.

If I remember correctly (and it's been a long while), that one massive Gravemind flood guy from Halo 2 had at least a couple tentacles. So yeah, an anime seems like a given and there's probably already several thousand gigabytes of fanfic and shitty manga-style art floating around the internet already devoted to the Halo franchise, or more specifically, the Master Chief being tentacle-raped by and/or tentacle raping some massive-eyed squeaky-voiced spikey-haired twelve year old ladyboy with vastly impractical clothing.

In short: yay. anime.

Do you accept reviews of videogames from people who just watch YouTube clips?

Uninformed opinion = no basis for judgment. The minty taste of racism on the end there is delicious, though.

Thanks Orz, so I didn't have to say it.

Never mind the fact the the Wachowskis were hugely influenced by eastern films and anime when they wrote/directed The Matrix.

For what it's worth, I thought The Animatrix was far superior to Gotham Knight.
