I can't keep track...Underworld, Anniversary. What's in this one exactly, as regards DLC-related stuff? Is this the most recent title? Is it an update to a previous title, like a Game of the Year edition?

Underworld is the latest Lara game. Anniversary was the remake.

I'm all about this title. The scope of the puzzles is phenomenal and there is a real "Prince of Persia" sense of loneliness mixed nicely with some less-than-spectacular-but-still-fun fights. The lighting is also noteworthy. A nice sleeper-hit.
Was this as good or better than TR:Anniversary? Most of the PC versions with exception to that one, imho, were shitty ports.

I think this is the best of the series as far as visuals and gameplay (particularly the platforming... the fighting is a bit weak). As far as the story goes, prepare to suspend a metric ton of disbelief for the ending. This wouldn't be a bad thing if it weren't for the wild plot-jar. Kind of a turn for the weird.

This game looks glorious, but has a few quirky things. such as walking at a slow speed towards a wall forces lara to throw her hands up and abruptly stop as if you actually RAN into the thing.. and also climbing walls, stepping from one rock to the next sometimes stretches her legs in horribly unreasonable ways. but those things can be ignored, really.
I think I originally played the demo with a keyboard and it was TERRIBLE. You really need a controller. The puzzles like mentioned above are really good. The puzzles that matter aren't blindingly obvious to solve which is great. I'm not too far in the game, and it's been awhile since I played last (distracted from borderlands, L4D2, etc)
It's a fun game, and I'd say it's definitely worth just under $8. I've never played any other tomb raider game before this, so I can't comment on that

Are you kidding!? Anniversary and Legend was fantastic ports, and examples of how well it can be done! As for this game, it looks good so far.

You must have read me wrong; I liked Anniversary. My question: Is this as good as Anniversary? I never played Legend but remember hearing bad things about it in the controls dept. I'd prefer to play my games with m/kb; if it's designed with a controller in mind i'm gonna give it a pass.

shouldn't everyone be comparing this to Tomb Raider Legend, and not Tomb Raider Anniversary?
Legend, if I remember correctly, is an update of a game that was built for PS2. Legend was the previous game that was built for current generation hardware.
I had a great deal of fun with legend. Specifically because it adhered to my videogame design rule of having at least two different fronts for you to be playing at any one time. When you got bored of playing the story levels, or got stuck, you could go back to your mansion and attempt to solve that for a while until you got stuck, then you could go back to the game.
The times I furiously masturbated to this women as a child is immeasurable.

I picked it up on the cheap here too. So far it's fun (I only played the original on PS). However the keyboard and mouse are infuriating to use. I'll need to find a way cheap controller very soon if I'm going to put in any real time with this game.

I use one that has the cord since I don't need wireless with my PC sitting under the desk.
GoGamer usually has them at a good price.
