Hey, it's December 3rd! That means it's also time for everyone to go try the Bayonetta demo. Yep, the sexy librarian is available to control right now on Xbox Live Marketplace (http://marketplace.xbox.com/en-US/games/offers/0ddf0001-0000-4000-8000-000053458828?cid=SLink).
From the creative geniuses behind Devil May Cry and Resident Evil comes Bayonetta™, a game of 100% pure, unadulterated, climatic action. With powers far beyond the comprehension of mere mortals, our heroine Bayonetta fights countless enemies, evil forces and giant foes in brutal yet graceful ways. Being bad never felt so good...
We talked about the demo on the last podcast (http://www.evilavatar.com/forums/showthread.php?t=100548), what say you?

I say Xbox.com needs an editor, so that nobody will miss an opportunity to enjoy the "climactic" action of this game/demo.

Maybe the gameplay is really hot? ;)

"Climatic" action? My interest is "aroused."

If you massage the data just right, things get really, really heated/warm! ;)

The demo is called "first climax."

That's fine. However...
* "climatic" = of or relating to climate
* "climactic" = of or relating to really hot hotness in a hot way. ;)

And your point was? If the best contribution you can add to the discussion is "they used a word wrong" then you are doing a good job of trying to pretend you are an intellectual, but you are doing a lousy job of actually being an intellectual.

I tried the demo a few weeks ago for 360.
It’s fun, but (in my opinion) not $60 fun.

So any mini-reviews or impressions? I'm at work and can't download/play it.

It certainly wasn't to piss anybody off; sorry if I did. Actually, I was doing a good job of simply reading what they said about the demo. I'll be sure to do less of that in future threads. ;)
"Cool. Demo. Awesome."
And posting on a game forum isn't the way to pretend to be an intellectual. I enjoy the gaming information, the personalities, and the sparring. It's informative and entertaining; two wonderful characteristics! News with attitude!
Edit: I'm surprised Anenome hasn't weighed in on this demo, as he was very excited for this game.

To be fair, EvAv users are generally smarter than Gamfaqs users. Although most of us misspell something (Or um... misuse the word inflation) once in a while.

I'd love to try it ;) Still don't own a 360 :P At this point I'm waiting to see how people feel about it.

Well, I took a stab at it. It's one part Devil May Cry with a slinky S&M babe, and two parts sheer madness. I hope the demo level is some sort of running last-boss fight for a level - because I really don't think I can take that kind of sensory overload for extended periods without having a seizure.
The gameplay seems fun - especially if you like Devil May Cry/Ninja Gaiden style games (3D adventure-brawlers?) The controls feel responsive, the moves are varied, and the dual-guns are now quad-guns (one in each boot-heel as well.) There's also a neat "time your dodges to activate short bullet-time" mechanic that lets you slow the action down and really let them have it.
The whole thing takes place in some strange world of light vs dark. You know: angels and demons - and it looks like you beat up both sides? Or maybe just angels that look like demons? Tough to say.
They also play the dominatrix thing all the way out. Your lock-on icon is a red-lipstick kiss, heavily animated finishing moves are "punishments", and you can summon massive stelleto boot-heels from the sky during combos (among maaaany other things.)

This was one of the few podcasts I actually listened too, and I have to say I am interested in trying this game out. I am always up for more Ninja Gaiden style of gaming.

I tried this on the PS3 and my JP account. It was fantastic! Wish I could try it on 360 too, but my Zephyr just RRoDed last night.
Yeah, I guess I'm back at EvAv after my exile.... but only until I get sick of the lack of edit again, or someone calls me a drama queen again. Then I will get all emo and exile myself yet again.

I actually enjoyed it. I think, once I learn how to use the character I can get her naked a lot :)
Am i the only one not digging it ?
It's not that its bad in any way, i'm not much of a DMC fan as a side note, but neither the way the story is told nor the camera/targeting system are bringing me in. frantic action - yes, gameplay that i am fond of - not so much.

Only poor controls/gameplay could possibly ruin it.

Loving the demo. Have replayed it countless times already. Bring on the full release.

I also enjoyed the demo though I find the main fighting mechanics arbitrary. . . It's a button masher that asks you to time dodges right before you button-mash. This is still very fun and I'm excited to play the main game. Hopefully it will have enough story to explain what the heck is happening. . .

Tried out the demo over the weekend & although Bayonetta's difficulty is nothing like DMC much less Ninja Gaiden... damn, is it ever fun to play.

I felt this at the start as well but once I started paying attention to what combos did what (particularly in relation to vertical movement) I was using specific techniques in specific situations and my score shot up rapidly as a result (less damage and I was taking out people much faster).
Yes you can mash away but there is something there to be mastered if you can be bothered putting in the time. At least it feels that way so far.
Bring on the full release.
Tee hee hee.
