There's a new shoot 'em up for download at ABA Games (http://www.asahi-net.or.jp/~cs8k-cyu/index_e.html) called Mu-cade (http://www.asahi-net.or.jp/~cs8k-cyu/windows/mcd_e.html). From the site:

The Physics Centipede Invasion.

Smashup waggly shmup, 'Mu-cade'.
I don't know what that means, and I haven't played it just yet, but given his past work it's probably damn good and Geometry Wars-ish.

Mu-cade is a play on words.

Mucade is a kind of japanese centipede, nasty wee fuckers too.

Not too sure about "smashup waggly shmup" though.

I think Dancing Queen 2: Wrath of the Queen was the the pinnacle of the series. They should just quit while they're ahead.

I'm thinking a tumeki fighters style game where you shoot ABBA members and atach them to you to add thier power to yours would be pretty cool.

This game is strange. Probably because i'm exhausted...but it's still strange. Oddly fun though.

Tried it on the keyboard and was confused and disorientated.
Plugged in my cube controller and now with two analogue sticks it's quite cool.
A refreshing take on shmups, you only die when you're knocked off the edge of the stage, not just by being shot once/health whittled down. I think I prefer my twitch/bullet dodging shmups, but this could be quite fun multiplayer.

We <3 Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shmup)Shmup: A shoot-em-up (shmup for short in some areas, and also known as arcade shooter, twitch shooter, space shooter, or sometimes simply just shooter, with shoot 'em ups being the most popular subgenre of shooter), is a computer and video game genre where the player has limited control of their character or machine and the focus is almost entirely on annihilation of their enemies.

I like it! :D

The tail can get very frustrating (and occasionally feels a little bit glitchy), but is a good followup to Tumiki Fighters, which had the same type of idea - the bigger you get the more points you score but the harder the game is.

Definitely worth a download, though I'd still be happiest if the guy who made HGEwars who make it work with my gamepad. ;)

What ever "Smashup waggly shmup" means, it's must mean something good, because this is awesome. Awesome-to-the-max!.

You realise you can release the tail right?
Apologies if you do, but yeah it's an incredibly useful button, whenever you're close to the edge it makes your chances of dashing back to the middle through all the bullets a lot better.

No apology needed - yeah, I do realise you can release it. ;)

Game would be practically impossible if you couldn't. But obviously the goal is to keep it around as long as you can to build up your score each time, so I wish it wasn't so.... twitchy. The collision detection feels a little off with it, or maybe it's just that when the game gets crazy so many things are hitting it at once and it's hard to keep track.

Here's my misread which is equally ancient: I thought it was a new American Basketball Association game...I wish they still used those bitchin' red/white/blue balls! :)

It's cool, but i've prefered his last couple of games to this one.

Ravenlock: Fuck HGEwars, Gridwars is a better.
