In Tomb Raider: Legend, Lara comes alive with intricately animated expressions, moves and abilities. An arsenal of modern equipment, such as a magnetic grappling device, binoculars, frag grenades, personal lighting device and communications equipment.

Tomb Raider team members at Crystal Dynamics embarked on their own quest to rediscover Lara Croft. During their soul-searching mission, they unearthed past consumer surveys, conducted new research, re-read every game review, listened to lots of passionate pleas and opinions from gamers and re-played through every Tomb Raider product. From this introspection and open-minded search for a fresh perspective, Tomb Raider: Legend was born. Check 25 new Tomb Raider: Legend screens (http://www.worthplaying.com/article.php?sid=32211) over at WorthPlaying.

Let's hope that's not just some sales pitch and they actually DID do their homework

If you're gonna have the screens pop up in a new goddamn window, at least give me some "next/previous" buttons!

That said ... eh. I think this game has to succeed despite its liscense. I've never enjoyed a single Tomb Raider game before, so the only way I'll ever care about is if this game is just good, Lara Croft or no.

I hate to say it, but despite the fancy new graphics, it looks like a high end sort of mod of one of the original games, kind of like when id releases the full source of an older title of theirs and then some modders update it with all the fancy new effects.

The enviornments despite the bump/normal mapping out the ass and reflective water look kinda bland, and the model for Lara Croft looks like it has the same amount of polys it had in the last few titles. Hell, the textures aren't even super high res. Not to mention the pushing and climbing animations look identical to Tomb Raider 2.

I've never been a fan of the Tomb Raider franchise, mainly because that kind of adventure/puzzle solving game just isn't my thing but I don't hate the franchise either just because of what it has become (a media whore). Like any gamer, I want good games to be made, regardless of the genre or platform as it only provides me with more choice; but looking at these screen shots it just looks like a new dress on an old pig.

The PS2 version looks surprisingly very impressive. In comparision, the 360 looks great, but unimpressive relatively for next gen.

I had the opportunity to play a level of the alpha build a few months back and I must say I was very impressed. I've always been a big fan and, like the rest of the world, hated Angel of Darkness. I thought this one goes right back to the roots of the series. It brought back a lot of the feeling of the first two. I'm really looking forward to this one.

I have no doubt this will be the best TR since the original , and the graphics look fine to me..not spectacular but sufficient.

Agree, WTF is up with WorthPlaying's screenshot display system. When ever WorthPlaying has screenshots, I just ignore them anymore.

Not to mention the huge annoying watermark.

Why so many sites feel the need to plaster their logo on something that isn't theirs to begin with. If you really must, at least make it mostly transparent.

The people that worked on the good games at Crystal D aren't even there anymore... if you're lucky, you'll get the team that did Whiplash on this puppy! :D

Tomb Raider seems like it could benefit by adopting some of the mechanics and gameplay from the Prince of Persia series.

The Tomb Raider franchise is as worthelss as Grand Theft Auto.

In terms of gameplay mechanics.

Is it just me, or do the shots for the various platforms look surprisingly similar? I don't think people will exactly rush out to buy a 360 when they see the screenshots from that and Xbox compared.
