Call of Duty Classic Coming to Xbox Live on Wednesday

IGN is reporting (http://xboxlive.ign.com/articles/105/1050306p1.html) the 'remastered' version of Call of Duty, which the Prestige and Hardened editions of Modern Warfare 2 came with a code for, will be available on Xbox Live this week.

Europe's Xbox Community Manager Graeme Boyd announced via Twitter (http://twitter.com/AceyBongos/status/6202128160) the revamp hits Xbox Live Arcade this Wednesday, December 2, for 1200 Microsoft points.

No word from Sony about the PSN release, but we expect it to be available this week as well.

Spacebear is right. Things you take for granted like a run button just aren't there.

After downloading and playing it, it is fun, but I'm not sure if I would pay 1200 points for it.

Remember when the MoH series was on top, and there was talk of "yet another WWII shooter"? Remember when the industry was looking down at "scripted events" and talking more about "dynamic AI"?

Then this game out. My GAWD! Remember going through the field on that first level? Your buddies picking up pulling fallen brethren and dragging them out of the way? Taking cover behind the freakin dead cows?!

At least not in my experience, there hadn't been anything like that to date. It did nothing technically new, but it did it all so right. Great memories. I will have to pick this up.

This is what I loved about preordering the MW2 Hardened edition on Amazon. I got this game for free (code with the game) AND a $20 credit that I used for another free game.

It's definitely old, but it's fun to go back once in a while. Would I pay 1200? No.

I got the game with the hardened version of MW2. I have to say it was fun but beware there is no brightness setting and it is super dark. So dark I found myself stumbling around not being able to see anything. Even on my Plasma with brightness set to 100 it was still too dark. Hopefully the patch it with a brightness/gamma slider.

I know I purchased a guide by said author several years ago. I think I have it stored away, in a box marked 'PC Stuff', to keep it in pristine condition. ;)

This is quite correct. I'm playing in the dark and it's just tolerable. Barely.
