As you may have noticed, EA is more excited about the first Superman Returns game trailer due February 28th than girls before a prom night. Thus they've now released more screenshots (http://xbox.boomtown.net/en_uk/articles/art.view.php?id=10672) from the trailer.

Looks awesome. The whole idea about not focusing on Superman's health but on Metropolis', which he must protect, is brilliant IMHO. After all he's virtually indestructable in the comics.

Ok, graphics look good, and the idea about the city's health being what you worry about also sounds cool... But some of those screens look very scripted, and I don't like over-scripted gameplay. Hopefully the action is nice and dynamic. I'll keep my eye on this one.

Is that stupid robot even going to be in the movie.
I am confused as to what the hell Superman Returns is even about. He visits the remains of the planet Krypton. Are they even serious.

This stupid robot has green circles (halos) all over him.
Green halos... hmm... that reminds me of something.

Mmm Superman could be a great game.
Fingers crossed this will be great. I like the thought of a big sandbox of Metropolis, surrounding area and space with the player having to kick ass in it.

there is some good art direction in the city anyway
the game could be pretty sweet

Looks good. Not really interested in the movie but if the game turns out decent might be more incentive to get a 360... one day.

Normally I wouldn't care too much...but I'm so hooked on Smallville (I've watched seasons 1-4 in the passed 3 months) I can't wait for this.

I think the robot is supposed to be Metallo.
And Yay! for Smallville. (Have you been keeping up with Season 5 Bap? It's the best yet...)

Yeah, the robot is Metallo and no, he's not in the movie from anything I've heard. The game takes a more expansive approach, sorta like the Spider-Man games, where stuff that wasn't in the movie is included.
These screenshots look fine and all, but the game is called Superman Returns, not Metallo Returns. I just want one decent screen of Superman himself for crying out loud.

I am worried about this too. Will have to wait and see how it comes out.

The "stupid robot" is Metallo. I don't remember Metallo ever being able to "absorb metal" in order to grow larger, though.
I guess they have to do something to make the villains more threatening to Superman? *shrugs*
Looks kinda nifty...

They'd be pretty low quality for pre renders, especially in the screen shot of superman stopping the rocket, but they would be pretty damn good for in game graphics.
I'm torn.

hehe, i think they...are!
And if anybody is thinking it's in-game, look at the shot of the robot gripping onto the buildings. There's no way that debris is in game.
then again, maybe i'm wrong. I'm playing RE4 right now and it's starting to make me believe anything is possible

Is some EvAver getting paid by EA to post news stories about renders as news stories about screens?
Let me know when there's anything from the actual game to see.

Bryan Singer said that the villain in the sequel to Superman Returns will be largely based on the character from the video game that will receive the largest reaction from the fans. What an idiot.
They could use Darkseid or Doomsday, if they both didn't look idiotic.

Well they could use Metallo without using that form, the guy is able to manipulate metal so he can pretty much look how he wants. He had a form where he still looked human, just metal under the skin, then there was another version where he was a human sized robot and I think his current form has him pretty big (not giant sized though) with the power to change size/metal and absorb technology. I mean with Lexx Luthor set up as the villian in the film you know he is just gonna get someone else to do his dirty work, Metallo seems to fit the bill.

Well if you really want to see him there's some pictures of him at The Internet Movie Database, but I for one wish I hadn't because he looks like such a huge dork it kinda ruins any expectations I had for the movie.
And if anybody is thinking it's in-game, look at the shot of the robot gripping onto the buildings. There's no way that debris is in game.
I agree, while it's technically possible to pull that scene off if you had just two buildings, there's no way you could pull it off in the entire city (and if it were possible, I'd go out of my way to make sure screenshots showed that rather than the pristine city that's in the other shots).
