The official Rainbow Six website (http://www.rainbowsixgame.com/us/) is currently running a countdown clock, "Until a MAJOR Announcement". Since the countdown started at 360 hours, speculation is that this will be the first Rainbow Six title for Microsoft's Xbox 360 console system.

I dropped out of the Rainbow Six, Ghost Recon, Splinter Cell game loop about six games ago. Might be a good time to pick them up cheap for the Xbox.

There's a nice three-game pack of those games for Xbox if you haven't played them yet.

The one on XBox that supports the voice commands is pretty cool. And the last Splinter Cell is damn near perfect.

Rainbow Six 3 is a great game on Xbox. I'd like to see a 360 version of it.

werid that there will be a r6 game as well as a ghost game. I never understood why they split those games up because it used to be rainbow six: ghost recon. $ maybe? Oh well, if it looks as good as ghost I will get it.

There is no such thing as Rainbow Six: Ghost Recon.

Rainbow Six - UN Counter-Terrorism squad
Ghost Recon - US Green Beret

Ive never been into or bought a ghost recon, didnt opt in by buying the last Rainbow Six Lockdown, and didnt particularly care for RainbowSIX3:Black Arrow but I've always been a splinter cell fan. I loved the original RainbowSix3 for the xbox. That game was THE live game at the time with amazing multiplayer and co-op single player over live. The alcatraz level was a perfect example of how cool that game was for its time for xbox live. I hope that they can match the quality of the first RainbowSix3, and hopefully it isnt too far from that type of gameplay feel like Lockdown was.

Both the Ghost Recon and Rainbow Six franchises have been crap since the core audience shifted to consoles. The last R6 just completely blew. Awful, awful. Maybe the 360 will see a shift back to decency?

I've never really enjoyed these.

The whole "die easily and permanently" thing means a ton of reloading levels over and over until you learn excatly where every guy is.

I remember watching my friend playing it. He'd set up on a level that he knows and wait a few seconds for the AI to walk into his headshot, then he'd throw grenades around a blind corner without stopping.

On occassion, he'd have to change his weapon loadout and it would require pausing the game and going through like 3 menus.

That's just not for me I guess.

Splinter Cell. . . too much stealth for me. I want my stealth games to allow me to be stealthy by moving like the wind. . . like a ninja. Anyone can crawl up to opponents like a snail and get the drop on them. I want to play characters who are GOOD at being stealthy. Basically, I got bored with the slow pace of the game.

Ghost Recon - same problems that I had with Rainbow Six really. . . though I found it pretty simple to set my guys up behind cover then lure the AI into them by using a sniper. The dumb AI would focus on the sniper that was much too far away for them to hit and would walk blind right into the range of my "hidden" other characters. . . the ones I didn't snipe anyway.

All the cool doo-dads in Advanced Warfighter have me interested again though. I'll definitely rent that and will buy it if it has good gameplay and replay value.

A double WOOT to that, oh frozen fowl. I am really looking forward to the new one on 360. If they can pull off all of the "choices" they are talking about the game should have some awesome gameplay.

Rainbox Six? Meh. I think that series died a long time ago. I think GR:AW will be a lot of fun as long as they don't make things too complicated.

I dunno, Ghost Recon, Rainbow Six and Splinter Cell all deliver the goods on the consoles (well, at least they do on the Xbox). To the fella who said that these titles went downhill since moving from the pc all I gotta say is "you're crazy". Rainbow Six on my PC pales in comparision to the rich gameplay that is delivered on Xbox Live. And as far as I am concerned R6 is the weakest of the 3 titles.

Sorry, Rainbow Six has REALLY taken a nosedive since they dumbed it down for Console player. It used to be THE definitive game on tactical shooters. It has moved into a more luke-warm feeling. It is really sad that the franchise has gone so far, down hill.

R6 co-op on the Xbox was damn fun. I'm definitely up for a new version on the 360.

Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow basically created stealth multiplayer. It was then enhanced in Chaos Theory. I can't wait for Double Agent.

Black arrow was by far the best game on Xbox live for a tactical shooter that you couldn't run and gun or pray and spray. If they fix some of the minor problems with the CQB and maybe add a melee attack (maybe not - a melee would need some serious balancing).

I loved Rainbow Six 3, Black Arrow was okay, and Lockdown is probably the reason some are saying that the series is going downhill. Lockdown was such a poor game. And just think, they are going to port Lockdown to the PC! Ugh.

I'm looking forward to both of the new Ubisoft's for X360, even though I don't really enjoy the Ghost Recon series very much.

And there lies my arguement agaisnt the console versions of rainbow six. If they dared to release that crap on computer the fans would revolt, what the hell is with Black arrow for pc?, They cant even take the time to fix it up?. The game is a damn shite port and they should be damned ashame for releasing that bollocks on the pc.

This game and Morrowind are the only 360 titles I want to play... still, not gonna drop $500 on the system, games, and controller just yet.

You must have never played Rainbow Six before it went to the consoles. R6:3 was developed for the PC first so it doesn't count as a console title. I'm referring to anything after it (including expansions). GR2 was absolute shit (such that it was never even released on PC because they knew no one would buy it), and I'm surprised theyre bothering to release R6:lockdown, as it's possibly the worst thing I've played in quite some time. I never said the Splinter Cell series was bad on console- it's just fine. The others suck, though.

I play Raven Shield every day. Whenever I need to cap some dudes and see the blood spray I pull up Raven Shield. The grunts as you shoot them. the blood pools, the weapons, all made it the perfect game for me to while away 1/2 hour when I get bored with programming.

All of the console ports and console to PC ports have been a pale shadow of the original. All the charm that I like in Raven Shield is missing. I was hoping this new one for the PC was going to be good but, it's a straight console port.

Yeah, Raven Shield > R63 Xbox.

What's its missing its just the uniform voice chat and somewhat, Xbox Live. Other than that, Raven Shield is just a better game with its tactical authenticity and customability. Plus the guys who play MP Raven Shield are just more hardcore about tactical sim.

Yet, the PC guys still complain and rant about Raven Shield. Creating a more complete game, for the audiences that are more vocal, and a market that is smaller makes Ubisoft/Redstorm think twice in making the PC as the primary platform.

I'm not "Anti-Console". I'm "anti-crap". The shit Ubi's been churning out lately is crap. Why can't I get the same enjoyment from the console that I can from the PC? I've played tactical style games on the console and enjoyed it. What happened to the level design? What happened to the blood and sound affects, the wonderful ragdoll? I know it's doable, on the 360 in particular it should be doable.

I can live with a small selection of weapons, a standard loadout even. What's missing is the whole rest of the experience. Raven Shield's years old. It shouldn't be that hard to transfer that realism to a console. "Hitman's" pretty close and it's years old too.
