Gamecloud has posted a hands-on preview (http://www.gamecloud.com/article.php?article_id=3594) of Relic's upcoming Xbox 360 WWII action title, The Outfit.

The Outfit deviates from the typical WWII action game in more than its storyline and overall theme. The single player game allows you to pick from each of the three main characters, each with different weapons and abilities, to go through a series of missions in a 12 level campaign. Tommy Mac's big weapon is the flame thrower which can be used to great effect up close by taking out tons of Nazis at once. Deuce Williams is the heavy hitter of the team with the bazooka, which is most effective on long range target. Finally, you have JD Tyler who can move quickly and can pick off Nazis one by one with his sniper rifle.

I had no idea this game had a "comical" feel to it.

Interesting...?

It's certainly not realistic. It was a bit shocking to me at first when I saw it at E3... but after some hands on time with it (errr or so I hear) It's a hell of a lot of fun!

There's also a High Def trailer here (720p and 480p versions available).

I watched a video preview at IGN yesterday that pretty much sold me a copy. The on demand delivery thing kicks ass.

This is the type of game I have been waiting for to jump on to the "NextGen" bandwagon!

Fully destructable environments, that's where it's at.

Prettier graphics mean shit to me. Fully interective environments is the where the next gen should be heading. Look at how much just some silly little bullet holes do for Black.

/Even though RedFactions destruction was more of a gimmick, I had a hell of a lot of fun in multiplayer with it, and even in singleplayer where I would sometimes go around enemies by tunneling around them with infinite rockets. Even found some secrets like that.

I'm so bored with killing nazi's. Can we pick another war please? How about a civil war based game, with minigames for reloading your gun properly, and instead of health packs, a nurse will just amputate your limbs..

Red Faction was loads of fun.. I wish the sequel was half as good (bosses were allways almost invincible).

They also competely botched the opportunity to expand the use of Geo-Mod. Instead of evolving the roots they planted with the first Red Faction, they fucked it up by only noticeably using Geo-Mod in a few insignificant areas.

I find it appalling that only now, almost five years after the first Red Faction, are we starting to see an improvement in environmental destruction, thanks to games like Black and The Outfit.

Fuck graphics - they are good enough where they are. If you want to impress me, take a current engine and throw in full environmental destruction and universal physics. Then, and only then, can your game can be called next gen.

I agree, but there are lots of wars that could be made into good FPS or RTS games...

Civil
WW1
Korea
Vietnam
Falklands
Desert Storm 1
Yugoslavia

Come on, HL2 modders...What are you waiting for?

If you preorder you can get a nifty looking 360 faceplate (http://www.ebgames.com/ebx/product/257309.asp) for free. Yea yea, I know... most of you think preorders suck.

This would have made a good Gi Joe game.

I’m looking forward to the demo being released. If it’s good I’ll pick it up for sure. Same with Ghost Recon. Man I love market place. It’s like a PC demo download site except instead of finding a server that has bandwidth, clicking through 100 ads, maybe registering, installing, and reading a EULA, you can just press the A button and watch TV till it’s ready to go.

No its not. The only things that are similar are...

2) shoot people

Everything else is different.

Really, no. Check out his other posts for some really hilarious material. I was up all night reading his gems.
