The New York Post has a few quotes (http://www.nypost.com/p/blogs/popwrap/rome_call_of_duty_movies_in_the_GHenHLj7kJLTHaO3Fi NIcL) from actor Kevin McKidd, who suggests that he may be playing Captain MacTavish in a Call of Duty movie.
On a more animated note, Kevin -- who voices Captain "Soap" MacTavish in "Call Of Duty Modern Warfare 2" -- says that the hugely successful video game franchise is also eyeing a big screen incarnation.
"They were looking for a rough, Scottish actor in Hollywood they probably couldn't get Gerard Butler, so they got the No. 2 Gerard Butler, me. I had no idea it would be so huge, and now there are talks of a feature film," he revealed to PopWrap. Then came the kicker, when asked if he would be bringing Soap to life in the movie, he said, "if the script is good, and Gerard isn't available [laughs], then absolutely."

I will be boycotting this movie as it will most likely only have dedicated theater support (ie. limited release piece of garbage).
So..basically just like any other generic B-level action movie??

Wait what? The games are like every military movie put together already, what can they possibly do a movie about?

Isn't that what Modern Warfares storyline is anyways? I mean I hate hearing the 1up guys laud COD's storyline, its pretty much on par with a Michael Bay film at best a-la The Rock or Bad boys.
If anything they should get David O. Russel to direct it, he did a great job with 3 kings.

So what am I giving up? Being funny and hating on the haters? I guess I can do that but it would sure make for a boring existence at times.

With sales like 500 million in a few days or whatever, this comes as no surprise.

These mailboxes come in a variety of colors but all look like they have been run over by a tank, hit with grenade shrapnel, or just plain bullet ridden. $99.95 or 5 easy payments of $19.99. Call now"

I didn't really understand the motivations of the characters in the story, and think it would make a bad movie. It's just a cash grab though, so I'll bet it gets made and makes millions.

So whenever a character dies he'll just come running from around a corner? Excellent way to save on casting. But don't do it Civil War Call of Duty because of the whole brother thing. It'd be really confusing.
