Yeah, but can you skip the cutscenes!?! No one is griping about it so i reckon you can. That killed the replay factor for me from the last one, which i otherwise loved...

Time for EvAv to initiate the 3-26 scale of game rating.

Hard to believe it's getting THESE high of scores. Is that Jade girl still the designer or did they get someone new?

She was never a designer. Jade Raymond was the producer on AC1 and 2.

Oh my... nice scores.

I played the first one and stopped. The same objectives keep me away. Let's see this new one.

I think french schools use a 1-20 scale rating for test, that's probably where it's from.

I'm quite looking forward to AC2. Hope they did something about the side missions though. That really killed the replayability of the first one for me.

From what I've read, they increased the variation of missions from 6 or so in the original up to 16, give or take, in the sequel. If that is true, then I think it will go a long way to easing a lot of the trepidations I had of the original. Personally can't wait to get on and play it tonight.

Picked up my copy of the LE edition at lunch. This is the only thing i have preordered from Gaystop all year. Definitely worth it, at least in the extras that came with it. Looking forward to starting this later tonight.

Went to Wal-Mart this morning and picked up a copy. After I paid for it, it took 4 employees to figure out how to open the protective case it was in before I could leave the store with it....

Anyway, I've been playing all morning and it's really good. If the first one didn't bother you too much, then you'll love this one.

I really need to finish the first one, one of these days. Played the opening city, then got caught up in other games. Really need to knock off my backlog one of these days!

another overhyped game getting early overhyped scores. The real scores will come later.

Just played the first 45 minutes at lunch today. It's fun, but after witnessing the greatness of Uncharted 2, Dragon Age, and Modern Warfare 2's "virtual actors", I'm left a bit emotionally barren, which is a very strange feeling after enjoying multiple decades of unemotional games. I think that triumvirate is going to set the standard for voice acting / character animation / back story for years to come.

Its on my Christmas list, so we'll see if I end up getting it. I am, however, taking the time to play through the original as I never beat it. I've gotten fairly far a couple of times, but kept breaking away for other games. This time I'm gonna try to dedicate my way through it.

This is exactly what I'm doing right now. The last game I purchased was Forza 3. After that game, I'm beating all my other ones before I purchase any new games. The first AC is one of them.

It's time I actually beat them, instead of playing them for a bit and buying the "latest and greatest" and not touching them again. I've actually enjoyed going through the games so far. GTA4 100% is what I'm on right now.

I wasn't a big fan of the original game at first, but it grew on me over time. The gameplay was flawed, but the era was really well-presented and very atmospheric.

I loved Assassin's Creed.

I loved Assassin's Creed.

I loved Assassin's Creed.

Now I'll tell you why :D

For me its one of those games that you shouldnt play as you're supposed to, the plot and assassinations are the background distractions. I had far more fun dicking around in the beautifully realised environment and using it as a giant jungle gym.

I hope the same is possible in AC2, ill be picking it up and stabbing people in the eye at the weekend :D

I loved it for this reason also. I didn't even need something to do in the city. It was enough that there were people walking around to run into and point at me while I did my crazy acrobatics across rooftops.

How can you say it was flawed? A game like AC is very easy to make wrong, and very hard to execute the action in such a way that allows you to slip into the action of the protagonist naturally. I loved the action, the gameplay. By the end of the game I was taking on hordes of templars for fun, I was invincible. Anyway, would like to hear your PoV on the issue.

Anyone else totally pulled out by all of the spinny junk flying around on the screen? Maybe I'm just at the end of a long work day, but that styling is really getting to me. (BTW totally love AC1 so I will still dig this, but we all hate change)

Gametrailers review, for so much complaining in the review they gave it a 9.2? I'm not sure I understand.

I love the game so far, but I do have one problem. Being awesome at the free running and climbing is very fun and satisfying until Enzio jumps in the completely wrong direction to his doom or water. Or while fleeing on the rooftops, he really wants to climb that small chimney badly.
Still, I'm having a blast. But I was a fan of the first, and it's just so much better this time around.

They do that a lot. They also start almost every review with a bad pun.

Yet I love their reviews.

Well, we did hear that Ubi tried to bribe one magazine into giving them a higher score. Maybe the others went for it.

Just because they did it well doesn't mean they did it flawlessly, even if merely doing it well was so difficult.

Well, I'm happy to see that the people from ubisoft listened to their fans and incorporated much more variety in AC2! I think that was the biggest flaw in AC1, you really get sucked in to the atmosphere of the game, but doing the same 3 things over and over again really sucked! I will definitely pick this one up :)
